I'd be happy if I were a Blues fan, that's a much better performance and they can still improve the team by bringing back Lam to the starting lineup.

With Telea out for a while I’d play Lam on the wing and keep Taele/Ioane in the midfield

Apart from whatever the hell was going on at the end there, job done for the Blues. We hung tough when under pressure and came away with points nearly every time we entered the red zone. The senior players stood up too.

Yeah some better work on attack.. still a long way to go.

The defence was excellent apart from kick chase. Hoskins and Papalii leading the way. We need someone to claim that 3rd loose spot though. Choat might be the best option for now?

I think that’s 5 disallowed tries in the last 2 weeks? Correct calls, but very frustrating when the Force get away with a clear lineout infringement on review

Yeah blatant incompetence on that try.

I also think Choat for now is our best 6 option. At least he can disrupt at breakdown and drives in contact with a bit of purpose. Either way, we'll need all available loosies for Suva, and a 6-2 bench is a must.

Please, to our kickers, to look to put the ball out next week. We're asking for trouble if we ask them to run it back to us.

Same, better balance out wide. Perofeta can go to the bench for now, Evans can have the other spot.

The Blues are hard to watch. Too many dumb decisions. Thank god, they have a number of players who have stepped up : Papali'i, BB, Sotutu, Ioane and Lam when he came on. Funaki did well too.

It's not like they lack experienced leadership. Baffling.

Its just the leadership that has constantly shat the bed for the past 5-6 years

There’s been some very average defence in this year’s competition but the Force were abysmal tonight

Don't select him next week. You make that sort of a fuck up, you deserve to be dropped.

The young 12 did some good things but should be dropped for that hungus when Rieko would have scored. The Blues just can't afford to have that sort of dipshittery.

He’ll pay for that on Monday, BUT the kid actually has some nous, and Rieko looked much better for having someone inside him who knew what to do.

Much better 2nd half after a flattering 1st half score line
Scrum was superb and dominant through the 80 minutes
    BB showing some excellent vision
Happy with the win but some of the decisions individuals make in the moment beggars belief but that final play was next level madness

Our lineout will doom us unless revamped by finals time.

    Shut up Wilson.

All other NZ sides get parochial local commentators

I was pretty dumbfounded a couple of weeks ago to find that many "lay" type rugby fans think TJ has sticky Blues posters in his bedroom.

    TJ and Tim: who knew?

Only 6000 people turned up for this. Pathetic numbers, in any circumstances, for a city of 1.8 million people.

The Blues need to play more games in Whangārei. Auckland's a league and a soccer city these days.
