Second major of the year begins tonight.
No surprises Scheffler is the favorite followed by Rory and Bryson. Course will suit the long drivers as it's 7,600 yards
Ryan Fox tees off at 11.05pm tonight

    Cool Tiger stat

Scottie moved in to i think 3rd for the most weeks at #1
If he remains #1 for the next 10 years and 6 months he will go past Tiger for first.

Accounts are that the weather has been pretty wet and the course is a bit soggy.

And he continues where he left off. -3 under 15, 1 off the leaders in round 1 of the PGA.

Ryan Fox shoots 4-. Tied for the club house lead. A great start.

Four way tie for 2nd, one behind the leader.

A bit harsh on former world number one Luke Donald. Also top money winner on PGA tour and European tour in same year apparently.

I guess you’re always a nobody unless you win a major. Kind of fair.

yes, actually a few quite significant names in there. Quite an international flavoured leaderboard there

    Some really shite scores.

Cam Smith currently limping home and will have 40+ on the back 9.
DJ and Dufner both shot 78, Speith not much better with a 76.
6 players shooting 80 or more...

Bit unfair on Keegan Bradley the current US Ryder Cup captain and former major winner, he won the PGA Championship back in 2011.
Matt Fitzpatrick is also a major champion, he won the US Open back in 2022.

    I stand by my statement.

Fuck all real names in that lot. Seriously, only golf nuffys are going to know those guys you're trying to present as household names. And even you nuffys would have to agree with me.

Am still delighted Foxy is tied for two.

I imagine Foxy is playing with a bit less weight on his shoulders now since he won last week and has that exemption on the PGA Tour for the next couple of years so knows he doesn't have to worry about trying to keep his card and the freedom that comes with that.

The PGA quite often has a different looking leaderboard to other majors.

I can see where you are coming from. Sad reality is that the US pro's get pretty much so all the media attention. Way it always has been.

You'd certainly be aware of Matt Fitz, MacIntyre, Donald, Noren & Hojgaard if they were Yanks. They are genuine big names, but even if you take them out, there's quite a few in there not overly famous. I've never heard of 6 on that list. Mind you, my golf watching has fallen off a cliff since LIV.

Speaking of LIV .... where are the big name LIV golfers? Rahm & Bryson look in the hunt still ... as for the rest ...
