At first glance without much thought:

I'd put Hika in at hooker for the Chiefs to complete the Pies front row. Surely there is a better halfback option than Leonard.

I'd move MJ to 7 and put Kaino in at 6 for the Blues.

Rodney at 8 for the Canes.

    Blues:
I'd swap which side of the scrum Brown and Woodcock are on.
Notable he's also included Rieko at centre.
Keeping Kaino out is a massive mistake.

Unfathomable how in two players he's neglected ~140 international caps at loose forward.

Marty Holah is the best 7 for the Chiefs, sorry Sam.

Feels wrong not having Jonno Gibbes in the team either.

Hika or ST at hooker. I'd even have Tom Willis ahead of de Malmanche.

TKB at halfback - not even close.

    Roger Randle over Reihana.

Loosies are tough. Messam plus two others.

if that's the qualifying factor there are going to be some very weird Hurricanes and Highlanders teams.

And that's before you add in that Sam Cane was the debuty for Lats in at least one of those title seasons.

E Clarke and then daylight for the 13 jersey based on Super form.

Wearing your Pies cap again and your obvious selection is Brad Weber

Kevin Senio has to be close, his pass accuracy was insane

As I see it, people tend to reminisce on the players when they were most emotionally invested in the team, likely tied to when they played the most attractive football, even if the wins didn't necessarily accrue silverware.

true didnt play many games either, but this doesn't appear to be necessarily on picked on what you delivered for the Chiefs

edit: if it was Lats should be above your Holah selection 🙂

In all seriousness Senio doesnt deserve to be in all time XV, I would have thought though what impact you had on the Chiefs should count.

Latimer, Elliot, ALB, Gibbes, Weber should be close. No doubt Ian Jones one of NZs greatest locks but Craig Clarke probably more prominent for the Chiefs

Jonah all day, he played the most games for the Canes so we'll take him.

I'd also have Lomax, Thrush and Rodney over Tialata, Tito and Tiatia

In saying that, the Pig and the Fish is the best named locking combo in NZ.
