I'm not sure Karl Puschmann has correctly classified "Dad rock".
He's talking about stuff made in the 1970s - someone born in 1980 is already 35 years old and probably didn't start properly listening to music until the early 90s. That's Dad rock to me.
Most of the stuff he's talking about is stuff that my oldest friends were keen on - Neil Young, Steely Dan - that's "Grand-Dad Rock"!

@MajorRage was the friday night concert the one where they pulled the pin on Dead flowers after half a song and Vedder came out on stage by himself and sang a hunters and collectors song? If so i was there too, it was raining inside the supertop.
