    @mariner4life Been listening to a lot of Pearl Jam lately. Quite easy to forget just how fucking awesome they are.

    Vs is basically the soundtrack for my first year at Uni.

    @MajorRage never been a massive fan (compared to other bands of the same era). I really like Vs, Ten is also really good (I'm listening to Porch as I type this), and i like the first four songs of Yield. The rest i could take or leave really.

    They do have some cracking sing-a-long tracks though, especially from those first two albums.

    @mariner4life yes, like most bands they have their ups n downs. But Ten & Vs are such huge ups, that pretty much so any down can be forgiven.

    And will always be the first big concert I went to where I had a genuine front row position. Pretty tough to beat the experience of being 17 and in the front row at the super top literlally 2 metres away from Vedder belting out Even Flow

    @mariner4life yeah, 95. The Friday concert. Totally awesome.

    Crazy to think that every single person that walked out was singing I got you.

    @mariner4life Just looking at setlist.fm ... my near 40 year old memory is fading me. They didn't even play Even Flow! Must have been Jeremy.

    @Donsteppa

    I'm not sure Karl Puschmann has correctly classified "Dad rock".

    He's talking about stuff made in the 1970s - someone born in 1980 is already 35 years old and probably didn't start properly listening to music until the early 90s. That's Dad rock to me.

    Most of the stuff he's talking about is stuff that my oldest friends were keen on - Neil Young, Steely Dan - that's "Grand-Dad Rock"!

    Occasionally chuck on a random Pandora station. This one was rock-related, and this old gem came on

    Victor Feldman was the only session musician to play on every track on Aja. A great, great man. The inspiration and lynch-pin of Yacht Rock (aka Westcoast) was English.

    Top three (non CS-80) synthesizers:

    Clavinet, Lyricon, Alan Parson's Projectron.
