hey all, still enjoying our food here in Raro - tahnks for the congats, wicked hard comp, toughest yet in short career, and obviously most satisfying! Some very tough athletes in line up, was 25 minutes on stage, so dehydrated to et to weight that the cramping started in the very first round of compulsory posing. Then there were four comparison rounds after that when you get called out with others taht the judges are obviosuly looking at. Anyway, FARKING TOUGH, but result at the end, so worth the pain!@

Pairs feel a little ripped off, but there you go, we'll talk to judges and see that the fuck they are actully judgung ON and go from there.

Ness and the chick who won their thing were so close it was not funny, but someone has to win and cone second, unfortunate it was not the right way around!

great news - now do NOT have to comepte in Wellington, so don't ahve to get stratight back on the diet so we are enjying some good food but not going mad - weight at weigh in was 79.8, so under by 700 at the end. before weigh in on the scales we had at flast was 80.3 so was nervousd as hell. Ness weighed in at 53.9 - she allowed to be 54. had to weigh in just in nickers!

now weight is 84.3 but abs and everything still there, nowejust look like a rugby player, not a concentration camp victim with muscles.

so new target nationals on the secnod of October, bring this on.!!

and this place is THE place to go if you want an island holiday - sod of Fiji, Raro is my new homje on holiday!!

see you all friday - and what a test match Aus v SA!!

Back on the road again now - first weight session this morning, shoulders and arms, and felt like Arnold at the end - brilliant!! weight blew out to highest of 89.7 yesterday, now is 87 and falling again as the water retention is delt to by eating clean, instead of burgers and fries!!!

Next target October 2nd, NATIONALS, bring them on, and the water off!!

84.6kg and 8.0%. so 4.1 until Nationals - dehydration accounts for a couple of those, and still holding fluid I assume and hope/ The muscle mass that needed to be demolished for the Raro comp hard work must be done, so it should be easier this time..
Hell leg workout on Sunday - feels good to be training with a afew carbs going into the system at the moment - although I expect these'll be dropping off in the next couple of weeks. We see trainer today, so will find out where we are at and what needs to be done to have another decent crack at a national title.

    Tuesday 7th September

84.6kg and 7.8%BF this morning, trainer stoked with our skinfolds / weight etc from yesterday.

25 days out from Nationals, and Ness's measurements the same as she was 8 days out from Raro, which means she will be a ripped freak come Nats.

I didn't look back to see what mine were back then, but from the last measures just before Raro they are at most 1mm above, and in most cases a half mil.

The grin on trainers face said it all - she was most happy, and a happy trainer makes a happy trainee!

Saturday 11th September - when I would have been in Wellington if not for winning the Aisa Pacific thing qualifying for the National in three weeks - thanks heavens for small mercies!

Anyway, weight this morning 82.5kg, BF%7.0

While it would have been tough doing Welly, right at this moment instead of sitting at work, I would be at the Lower Hutt townhall scoffing Snickers and kumera and rice wafers with jam and honey...

Damn, that sounds good - although the half cup of wholegrained rolled oats with a scoop of Raisey's chocolate protein powder, soaked overnight in water was pretty superb just now!!!!

Is it possible to make any real changes with a short gap between competitions? Or is it just a matter of getting dry again?

not really changes as in shape, but 7your muscles can look tired and flat. So you need to feed them up between comps so you can go in hard again next time. Lots relies on the carbing up. When you weight in the night before it gives you 18 hours to scoff plenty of carbs - but hard to weight in at night as you are heavier, so need to go harder on the days before. Nats and Asia pacific were night weigh ins, most regional comps are day, so you are loking your best at the night show - AFTER all the judging!!!

This is all from listeing to my traininer, as I never notice the flat tired muscles - in the dehydration carb deplete stage I feel like shit anyway, flat or not, and can't wiat for the feed up stage!!

Last year between Wellington and Nationals (2 weeks last year), Vanessa's legs changed beyound belief, much more definition second time around, and I was leaner too secdon time out.

this morning weight 81.7kg, and 8.2%BF.

think a little dehydrated - I always find it hard to get enouigh water in over the weekend, as at work I have the water bottles lined up on my desk and know I need to finsih one before mid morning, one by lunch, and at least one after lunch. Always tough as home when you are just tooling around doing nothing. Speaking of whcih, water time right now!!

SO I don't think I'll be having any trouble with my weight for Nationals, 1.2 kilos in the next what 19 or so days. If anything, I'll need to keep the food going in - as to be fair, I have been cheating a little - three huntyl plamers crackers yesterday when I got home (had to finish the box, they had been calling out to me since Raro) from morning work, and an HPLC bar the day before, both not on the menu...

We go see Teresa trainer on the 17th though, she'll food me up or down as the case may be. Pissing down here today, so not a lot will happen, have an hour cycle at gym, Ness has that and a series of 50 metre sprints to complete, I'll go down and get wet with her in solidarity, but it's not going to be much fun - good training for the golden oldies weekend in a few weeks...
