Awesome result. Go go the Fox.
-
@taniwharugby I thought exactly the same.
But, the three wood was so good it forced an error from Burns.
-
I think that makes Fox the second kiwi (male) after Bob Charles to win 2 PGA tour events. I know the earlier one was a second tier event, but still a neat achievement.
I wonder if the extra security will help him to play more freely or if the pressure helped him to play his best.

@Cyclops I saw him get interviewed after 2nd or 3rd round of this tournament.
He said he has lost fear, or was more relaxed, so was prepared to take the slightly riskier shots after the first win.
Also remember seeing him say after the first one he was relaxed as a sportsman of his age to know he could play in USA for a couple of years pretty well set him up. -
Great win by Ryan Fox, hopefully he'll able to carry his good form into next week's US Open.

The US Open at Oakmont is gon' be tough!
-
I fell asleep after the second playoff hole (it was 11:30pm here) as watching on my phone in bed. Woke up about 2am with phone on my chest wondering what the hell was going on. First thing I did was check to see what happened.
Buzzing, so happy for him, clearly on a golden streak at the moment.
Obviously much more of a competitor than this, but the lad could probably sign with LIV now for multi millions and be set.

Foxy joins Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy & Ben Griffin as the only players with multiple wins on the PGA Tour this year.
Sepp Straka too

Yes your right. Sepp won the American Express and The Truist Championship.

20 years since Cambo won his US Open at Pinehurst, he did so at even par, lookong at some of the footage of the course, I reckon the winner won't be too far off that.

I read an article the other day about Cambo with this year being 20 years since his victory and he went back to Pinehurst to revist the site of his victory for a documentary coming out on Sky soon called Dare To Be Different. He said during filming for the documentary he made his first trip back to Pinehurst since 2005 and said he was surprised by the reception he received from three of the biggest names in golf. Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele & Justin Thomas came up & chatted to him about his victory.

Feature groups (3 I think) coverage starts at 11ish tonight, general coverage from 4am tomorrow NZ time
Not sure which early tee groups are the features but there are certainly some good ones. Lowrey. Rory and Rose prob one of them. Bryson (hah maybe!) and Schaufelle (my pick to win) may be another.
Scottie of course is the man to beat. Hope Bryson turns up with the A game too.
Winning score prediction -4.

I'll watch in the hope to see good players suffering

We are going to see some pretty high scores in the US Open.
Last time it was held at Oakmont back in 2016 Dustin Johnson won with a score of -4. The official cutline was +6
Jim Furyk, Shane Lowry & Scott Piercy all finished T2 on -1
Sergia Garcia & Brandon Grace were T3.
Jon Rahm finished as the leading amateur on +7 and Scottie Scheffler was also in the field as an amateur but missed the cut.
