The Rieko I want to see tomorrow:

Hopefully Crotty and Goodhue give him some good ball to work with

    Sonny Bill

Someone to play like 2017 Kieran Read would be handy too.

It should be noted Rieko was being marked by one of the worst tacklers in modern rugby history - Raymond Rhule.

If DMac plays well, the whole Ireland team were shit, if Rieko plays well, his opposite is the worst in history.

    I like this for Jordan.

@Bones nice strawman but I never said DMac didn't play well, in fact after that match I said I wanted him as our starting 10 moving forward on account of his kicking game. I also said I would have started him this test with Beauden on the bench. My point was that starting Beauden wasn't particularly controversial as well given his good form this year, his experience, and his more direct running style which works better against test match defenses.

    @No-Quarter

Beauden runs sideways a lot - especially when he's going to pass.

Love, Reihana, Plummer and Perofeta are all a lot more direct than the two in today's squad

You can't draw conclusions on small selected samples, otherwise week 1 playoff Hoskins is a legend, week 2 he's a useless piece of shit. And if playoffs are the be-all, where are our cantablacks?

I'm talking about this notion of DMac being the answer - not disputing Beauden has his issues too.

The fact is DMac has come up small 3 playoff years in a row.

I blame Laidlaw for not keeping Love at 10 this year and I'm championing Reihana - Reihana would have been in my AB squad - I would have done something like name him in the squad but release him for the Maori ABs and then have him rejoin the AB squad.

The difference is that Beauden has had years and years - that improvement is clearly never happening.
How many tests has McKenzie actually started at 10? And in far fewer opportunities he has shown glimpses of what we need - the attacking first half of Boks 1 last year, the improved control vs Ireland etc.

    Started 15 tests at 10.
    Started 23 tests at 15.

So if we compare that to Beauden playing how many at 10 without ever looking like anything other than an individual star fullback playing out of position?
And compare it to how many tests Mounga took to find his feet - and particularly how many in a row without them chopping back to Barrett every few tests?
McKenzie is getting fucked around, to the detriment of the ABs. Brilliant footy player BB, but i think our coaches selecting him at 10 has stifled our play for far too long.

Is this today? Like in about 3.5 hours' time?
It's fucking hard to keep track of this shit in a weird time zone. And fucking Murica's birthday, give me a "hell yeah".
I had a plan of: fucking around all day, do some cooking prep, do a tour of a few breweries, see if I can see any fireworks, go home, do some drunken cooking.
Now I have to add an entire AllBlacks game to the end of that, starting at midnight?

Year 1 is out of the way. Any of the nervous energy has been expelled. It is now time for the Surfboard Jesus era to truly commence. May these French get the first taste.

France paying between $9 and $15 for the win.

Bet 365 has them at $11, and the spread at 22.5 points.

    Should be an easy win.
