Have a read of the comments to Act's tweet. On second thought, maybe just insert a pineapple into your rectum.

I remember Russell Norman coming off looking quite rational during the last general election campaign whereas Turei is your typical left wing activist. There's always something or someone with more money than the average worker to blame, having aspirations is a sin. I bet she'd like to turn the basin reserve into a cooperative farm

Russell Norman was quite a composed and clever politician, now of course he is showing his true colours as the Obersturmbahnfuher of the environmental SS.

He is your classic well off urban Greenie who thinks everyone should just pay $10 for that bottle of milk etc. because it has green credentials.

I guess if my sister in law was a Hollywood actor I probably wouldn't worry much about money or reality.

Any views on James Shaw? He seems somewhat moderate for a Green (or maybe just appropriately two faced), someone who has worked in something resembling business (even if it was just as a management consultant for Pricks With Calculators) and not just as an advocate for the devastated masses of New Zealand who came into contact with the White Man.

@canefan they have a solid base of around 10% that will vote for them regardless of whatever insane things she says , while she's there talking shit like that they'll never do any better .

If you haven't read it yet see if you can get a copy of Mad Men by Steve Braunius , it's him following the 2014 election. He ends up at the house of some actor who had a small role in Lotr , Lucy Lawless and a couple of other prominent leftards are there too and Turei busts out her ukelele and starts a singalong of not given lightly by Chris Knox . I'm not making this up, Braunius is a very funny man and gives a pretty good rundown of how otherworldly the whole thing was.

For someone with a business background he made a bit of a cock of himself here, even Labour thought it was a good idea and then Shaw opened his mouth and Cullen pointed out he didn't have a clue.

James Shaw is all bloat and no substance... his business credentials amount to being a sustainability consultant.... big fucking deal.

Re the labour/greens deal, unsurprisingly the locals in Nelson are pissed at doing years of work for the Labour Party only to find out it was a waste of time and they've decided the greens should have the seat

@jegga think this is the one that came out on Monday Labour would 'give' the seat to Greens, Little came out claiming there was no deal

Was a daft deal to start with, Labour just as well have bought .Com on board for all the good it seems to be doing

@taniwharugby the left are still claiming the polls are wrong too. I imagine if they were in their favour they'd say the exact opposite. It's worth recalling that when Shearer was their leader they were around 35-37% but he was too " right wing" so they dumped him.

They can "give" whatever they like, but unless Nick Smith is not standing again in Nelson - and it's news to me that he's not - then there is bugger all chance of anyone else taking that seat.

I can't stand Nick Smith, but a majority of Nelsonians seem to love him. Last time I thought he'd at least be dented by his shenanigans around merging the Nelson- Ta$man councils (his close ally the Nelson mayor got turfed out), but Nick suffered barely a blip.

@jegga I was driving into work yesterday and the car sitting next to me had 'In loving memory of Connor MOrris' and then whatever the dates were on their rear window...it has obviously been tough on everyone

@taniwharugby I hear you, hard to believe it's been three years. Seems like only yesterday he was giving someone a beating on the footpath in a p fuelled rage . It's these kind of memories that keep him alive in our hearts.
