The Walking Dead Series

Longer episode tonight but still fairly slow despite going back and forth between different storylines involving Negan, Rick, Michonne and Rosita. Thankfully though after last week's dross, they've gone back to developing multiple storylines in one episode and based on next week's trailer this will be the case again. Plus finally we get taken back to The Kingdom. Be interesting to see what Jesus gets up to.

yeah it was a better episode, bit of teeth I suppose.
Was waiting for Carl to drop Lucille on Negans head, but I guess self preservation is still high on his list as opposed ot out and out revenge.
Assume Dwight had the 'iron' treatment as well?
-
@taniwharugby Yeah the fact that Dwight got it came up obliquely in a previous episode.
Best part of this ep for me was "We're literally starving here" and then the look. Fecking funny that one.
-
He made fun at her the last time too about her being in charge of the food...
and then he asked her for sex too, cracked me up.
I do really like his portrayl of that character, but in small doses.
-
@taniwharugby I agree, too much Negan and he becomes a parody and then you'd lose that sense of menace.
-
Liked parts of the final ep, but others I didn't.
The shot by Rosita, that was pretty weak, the chances of her aiming at him and hitting Lucille?? C'mon, these are people that use guns all the time to survive, and they have survived, they get one chance at killing their worst enemy, and you hit a bat?
Knew Negan was gonna kill Spencer? He's always been a pussy.
Good to see Darryl out, but boy Negan will be pissed when he gets back, especially with Fat Joseph gone too
Some scenes It's like they cant really be bothered though, like the paddle across that little lake...seemed a wasted scene to try and add a weak sense of drama, but be interesting to see who this other cat is that was watching them.
Have to think the show down with the Saviours will have to happen in the next few eps of next season?
-
Good episode. The most annoying thing though was that they've created so many various storylines thus far in the series that for quite a while I was annoyed at how often it jumped back and forth. Great that they've finally got the likes of Rick, Daryl and Maggie back together but what a bloody painful way to do it.
Clearly now we'll see Alexandria reinforced by The Hilltop under their defacto leader Maggie, and presumably The Kingdom will join the alliance at some stage if old mate can convince Ezekiel to do so, or if his hand is forced. However while this may give the Allies the numbers, they'll still surely be outgunned. And one thing that would be ridiculous would be if Negan didn't have spies in the likes of the Hilltop, but it seems he doesn't as he doesn't yet know about Maggie.

Was a pretty good episode ruined by the bullet in the baseball bat. That was just ridiculous. As was the response. He just lets both attempted assassins go, even though both of them seem to have made it quite clear that they'll have another go when they get the chance.
I realise Negan is a deranged psycho, but surely he's smart enough not to offer himself up as a target time and time again. A guy like him, with the shit he does would have to have a fulltime bodyguard, a farking Saviour Secret Service.
That dude from the Kingdom seemed to be collecting bottles. Molotov cocktails for a future fight?
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yeah the bullet thing pissed me off too, but on your other point, I think thats the thing about Negan, he feels he instills so much fear people wont even try, given the number of times someone could have offed him to date, sure they'd of been killed probably too, but the opportunities have been there.

scanning through Batman vs Superman earlier...didnt notice when I watched it, but Thomas and Martha Wayne are Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Lauren Cohen (Maggie)
Random useless peice of info

That dude from the Kingdom seemed to be collecting bottles. Molotov cocktails for a future fight?A bit behind, but this is giving me the shits (well my usual shits with TWD) - the dude would be dead by now. Carl was beyond giving a shit about his life and would have just taken the shot. This storyline has me longing for the Governor.

And it's baaaack.
We're obviously building up to a massive war here, which should be cool. I tell you what though, that CGI tiger is shocking. Wouldn't it even be cheaper just to hire a real one for a couple of days?
-
I would be interested to know more about the distances between Alexandria, Hilltop, Saviours and the other 2 groups we know about...have to be an area of say 1000sqkm if not more for there to be large groups they don't know about.
Also, that new group, they look like they been in isolation since well before the outbreak #inbreeding

filler ep IMO...although I guess giving insight into the ill feeling within the Saviours.
Assume Dwight will rise up against Negan, Eugene is biding his time saying what Negan wants to hear, certainly would appear a large part of the Saviours that would like a shot at Negan if it presented itself.
He is a tyrannical leader who is leading through fear, surprised he has lasted so long TBH, but I guess cos no one talks about their hatred, no one knows and is afraid to rise up on their own.
The Saviour issue needs to be dealt with by end of the series.
