ok, hopefully that got your attention. No references to eggs in the morning either thanks!

I picked up some oats and while I've seen plenty of recipes etc across various threads I am feeling lazy : )

If you'd be so kind as to repeat how you prepare your oats for breakie that would be much appreciated!

    Proats

Put 1 cup of oats in a bowl / container
Make 1 cup protein shake (ie 250ml milk and 2 scoops protein powder).
Pour protein shake over oats. Mix well and leave over night. Eat in the morning (cold).

Just oats
Put 1 cup of oats in a bowl / container
Sprinkle in 15-20 raisans and 1 tea spoon of cinnamon.
Mix well and leave over night. Eat in the morning (cold).

Both very easy and taste pretty dam good to me. With Proats you can flavour it up depending on the protein flavour you use. Had choc yest, vanilla today, maybe bananna tomorrow. Mmmmm.

    1/2 cup wholegrain oats
handful of baby spinach leaves
small carrot
200ml milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup of frozen blueberries
cinnamon
vanilla essence

Blend it all together. Love it as it knocks off two of the five a day veges for the day first thing.

Yeah but if you are chasing calories then milks all good. Extra protein too! That calci extra milk is shit hot.

Its funny though, can't stand milk and protein as a shake (much prefer water), but with oats I like my milk.

No liquid with that last mix?

Had a cup of oats this morning mixed in with Mammoth supply yoghurt - tasted good and kept me full for ages. Too much sugar etc in that brand though so I'll be trying some of these other recipes.

Soaking overnight just makes them softer??

Whoops hell that would be ROUGH! Forgot to add the milk. Usually just cover the oats and yep by next morning the oats have absorbed the milk and its nice and soft and good to eat.

Never thought about doing it just with water. Will be the go from now on as I'm one of those that doesn't need the extra calories.

Oats with 2 scoops of protein powder and skim milk. On weekends I also have 3 boiled eggs (remove yokes).

Not recommended if you're in a rush and don't have time for... ahem bog time afterwards.

I remember the firat time on this Oats kick and food guru didn't specify milk or water, and I assumed milk. For that month strangely enough I had no bf loss. Trainer was perplexed until we discovered I was using milk in oats! I think it was me saying, "I even use trim milk in my oats", and she was "milk, WHERE does it say to use MILK"!!

Ooops.

But if you were not using the protein powder, and not bodybuilding and counting every singe damn calorie, I am sure Trim milk would be fine!!

Hmmm wonder if I should switch to water even in my current state? Reckon I am still a bit short in calories and thought those from milk would probably be better than from some other foods. Was even thinking of having a big glass of calci-trim milk pre bed to help meet the calories target

one of our pre beddy-bies is cup yoghurt and scoop protein. mixed together, tastes great. SO glass of trim milk probably not too at all, better than half a packet of Tim Tams!

Mmmmmm, Tim Tams...

Prepared 1 cup of oats, 1 cup of trim milk and a bit of cinnamon last night. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but the first spoonful was a bit bland this morning so I added a sprinkle of brown sugar : )

I'll pick up some fruit which will def help on the sweetness front. Raisins, banana, etc are all things I like to eat.

Two days of oats for breakie and wow do they keep you full.

Mates wedding is 10th March (I'm a groomsman) so that's a clear goal for my training and eating nice and clean.

what are the best sweetener options?? JK only adds 15-20 raisins!! that doesn't seem like heaps!
nah, just Ness got told off for eating a trail mix type thing, "do you know how much sugar is in a handful of raisins"!!!

My weakness is dates, and I read the back of the Pams packet that I can scoff down by accident - think it has a third of my calorie intake for a day, or a bit more actually, can't recall, but it was HEAPS!

I'm on about 2800 at the moment, plus cheats!!!

and there is an artificial sweetener, yellow box, in the same section at New World as the cooking stuff - muffin mixes etc. can't remember the bloody name though sorry!

and it probably isn't that important, a handful isn't much, but wehen you're counting every single calorie, it is!

What brand of oats are you guys buying? I tried generic wholegrain oats once and they were terrible. I do like the over-processed Uncle Toby version though <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
