As for leaping to defence of his character? Why would I do that? I dont know him.. and he is a politician. I am interested in the facts of the matter, not if he is a nice guy. Maybe the volumes it speaks to you is that people defending Trump are doing so because they look at the facts, and those that are attacking him are doing it because he is they dont think he is very nice.
I don't give a rats if Trump is 'nice' or not.
I do care that he is a proven self centered and thin skinned reactionary egotist who makes knee jerk decisions.
If I was an american tax payer I would also be concerned that he is spending millions of taxpayer dollars at his own businesses.Proven self centered? Jeez he must be first president to have that trait. .oh wait they ALL do. Thin skinned... I think he has been incredibly restrained after the disgusting and dishonest attacks he has been subjected to. Maybe if the media and left stopped being complete and utter piston wristed gibbons. Things would improve. But they won't.. because Trump is a republican president.Bush got similar treatment... if a lesser version.
The lesson appears to be that if you are a republican president you have to put up with lies and twuntish behaviour from media etc. If you fight back you are thin skinned. Wouldnt be so bad if Democrat presidents had the same volume of shit to deal with.
As for the business side...
People could care about that.. i think it rubbish beltway nonsense. Time..... and the court case will tell. Until then I will just think it is yet another part attack from the left. But I am pleased the left is finally showing some interest in cash corrupion in politics... let's talk about the Clinton Foundation. The one under actual FBI investigation

What knee jerk decisions has Trump made as president?
You want knee jerk, look at your beloved Merkel with closing every nuclear powerplant in Germany or shitting all over Shengen and letting in a million "refugees".
If Trump has actually done something wrong then I hope he goes down for it, but despite desperate and breathless accusations of impeachable offences since day 1, what is there is show for it? Basically nothing more than character assassinations and accusations from those who hate him about what they think he MIGHT do.

Comey will certainly be investigated in regard to the sources of the leaks.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/06/12/comey-admitted-single-trump-leak-but-were-there-others.htmlHowever, Mueller lacks the necessary independence from him.
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/06/12/gregg-jarrett-are-muller-and-comey-now-acting-in-concert-as-co-special-counsel.htmlBut Trump is stuck. If he fires Mueller, he will (again) be accused of trying to cover up RUSSIA.

It should come as no surprise that he who has a history as a twunt, and continues to act as a twunt gets treated like twunt.
Theres really no need for any media outlet to make up damaging lies about Trump - Trump gives them so much ammunition that it really isn't necessary. -

Trump didnt care how it looked when he fired Comey and I suspect he doesn't care how it will look if he fires Mueller. Were it not for his advisers telling him otherwise, Mueller would already be fired.

Absolute rubbish. Comey was fired because Comey was incompetent.
Mueller rumours are just like all the other rumours. Nonsense until proven otherwise. -
@Baron-Silas-Greenback trump himself pretty much said it was because of the Russia thing, rather than the incompetence re Clinton, which is what the rosenstein report was about. Trump also said regardless of the report he was doing it. He's pretty good at contradicting his staff: that's because he's an idiot with poor impulse control.

Yes , you seem to be assuming Comey can only be incompetent at one thing at a time.
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback and also given comey was a republican, and torpedoed the Clinton campaign, how can you basket him with this corrupt leftist media that is out to get trump who is behaving so wonderfully?

Because he had zero choice but to notify congress. He was betting on Clinton winning when he usurped the DOJ and didn't recommend prosecution.
Why did he let Lynch bully him into lying for political reasons.
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback so he's a guy who clearly doesn't follow DOJ rules if he doesn't feel like it, but decides he must immediately prior to the election, screwing the Clinton campaign, and you're still convinced he's on "their" side?

Mueller rumours are just like all the other rumours. Nonsense. Not rubbish. I said Trump didn't care how it looked, I have offered no determination on the reasoning supporting Comeys terminated employment nor Muellers potential termination. Trumps reasoning can be legitimate or illegitimate - either way, he still doesn't give a shit what it looks like and thats a core part of what his base love about him.

@reprobate
NYPD found the Weiner laptop with Clinton stuff on it at the beginning of October. Comey faced a massive number resignations from the rank and file below him if he did not report they had found new Clinton material (given the rank and file were already pissed he had determined no intent by Clinton in July). That is why he notified Congress. Of course, he never misses a chance to play the white knight. I think he will be looking for immunity from Mueller in exchange for testimony on Lynch, Brennan etc. -

Comey offered this unsatisfying explanation. He absolutely should have pushed back on Lynch.
"Well, it concerned me because we were at the point where we refused to confirm the existence as we typically do of an investigation for months. And was getting to a place where that looked silly because the campaigns we're talking about interacting with the FBI in the course of our work. The Clinton campaign at the time was using all kinds of euphemisms, security matters, things like that for what was going on. We were getting to a place where the attorney general and I were both going to testify and talk publicly about it I wanted to know was she going to authorize us to confirm we have an investigation. She said yes, don't call it that, call it a matter. I said why would I do that? She said, just call it a matter. You look back in hindsight, if I looked back and said this isn't a hill worth dying on so I just said the press is going to completely ignore it. That's what happened when I said we opened a matter. They all reported the FBI has an investigation open. So that concerned me because that language tracked the way the campaign was talking about the FBI's work and that's concerning."

Scandals and outrage sells papers.
I agree, being a twunt is not illegal and to my knowledge is not an impeachable offence... yet -
The issue at present with trump is not that there is any evidence of collusion with Russia at all, but how he thinks - because he thinks it's a crap story - that he can just tell people to make it go away and not have it investigated. That's wrong, it's corrupt, and it's the behaviour of a dictator (or CEO).
Russians trying to fuck with us elections is a big deal, and it all should be investigated, and if you have guys lying about meetings then even more so. -

This was not the case. IIRC at the time the general consensus was that it was highly irregular to notify congress about developments pertaining to an ongoing investigation
