The BLACKCAPS gloveman represented Australia briefly in 2008 and 2009 before resurrecting his international career with New Zealand in 2013, playing a total of four Tests, 85 One Day Internationals and 32 T20 internationals.

A pretty good effort, the ODI numbers certainly climb quickly over 3 - 4 seasons.

    Fair play to Luke.
He's had his critics when he kept getting selected while in a serious slump.

But at times he was seriously good.

    Including his test match contributions.

Probably made BJ strive that much harder as he came over just as BJ was getting his second chance.

Did it the right way too, came over and dominated Plunket Shield for a season before he got picked.

    Well done.
Back to sunny Perth now though I suppose .......

@Rapido Yeah - his time was up, but in his hey day he played some super ODI knocks doing perhaps the toughest job of managing the late innings acceleration.

Needed one more run to have a test batting average of 40.

I'll miss him, even though his last couple of years were pretty barren - there was always a bit of life and hope whilst he was still not out.

So do we go with BJ Watling for the ODI side? Tom Latham? The T20 side will probably feature Tom Blundell or Glenn Phillips....

Watling will get a couple games against Australia, fail to score runs alongside the rest of the middle order and be dropped for someone who secures their spot for years with a decent score against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh.

Anyway, Ronchi. Hung on a couple years too long but a very good player when he was on. The 170 not out against Sri Lanka before the World Cup was amazing to watch.

Pick someone young and stick with them.

Go well Mr Ronchi. Ended up being a great servant of NZ cricket, and it was always obvious he was a team first man which was central to the team ethos. Part of his game that was not talked about much was his glovework - always very tidy and reliable.

If not for the rain he would have contributed to a great win against Aus before bowing out, which is a shame.

The 170 goes down in NZ cricket folklore, that was an incridble innings.
