Wiki/Collaboration Software

Does anyone have any recommendations for wiki software (or alternatives) for small teams? I want to document a tech area, and retain all the bits of information, links etc I pick up along the way.

@Tim have just started using http://www.redmine.org/ with a new provider. That has wiki features, and seems good so far. But I'm still new to it, so not sure if it's overkill, or how hard the learning curve to proficient user is.

We use Confluence for that sort of stuff, but mainly due to it being free for us as we are reseller, and we use JIRA which it integrates well with.

It’s easy enough to edit, more so than a wiki. Not sure I like it enough to recommend it but you can try it out and see what you think.

We use the Atlassian stuff at my work - we've had JIRA nearly nine years (I built its predecessor) and Confluence is what we use for documenting shit (or it was up until they decided we should have a developer portal as well )

However, I find no matter how well the tool sells itself, the principles are the key. Bad practice will always kill good systems.
