Bolt third, New talent Justin Coleman Second and Justin Gatlin First in the mens 100m. In my mind there is an Asterix by Gatlins name because of his drug cheat history.

Magic? Is that a name for a new kind of drug?

I struggle to engage with track any more. There is so much dodginess not getting picked up - the Russians, the Jamaicans, some of the Brits - it's everywhere. And no high profile athlete is getting picked up in testing... I shouldn't be even reading this thread as I'm reacting.

Asterix? There should be a line through his name.

I totally understand @nzzp point of view, but I can't quite bring myself to quit on track and field. Bolt is the big one isn't he? If he was found to be juicing that, I think would be it for me.

@Catogrande Remember Dorian Yates the body builder Cato?

He was on Joe Rogan podcast and given he's lived with the juice, his thoughts on the doping at all levels of pro athletics (and other info on steroids) resigns me to the thought that we've all been taken for a ride, for a very long time. (e.g. Everyone in the 1988 Olympic 100m final was juiced but only Ben got shat on)

Like the fats vs sugar vs food pyramid disinformation I think we've been thrown a strawman on the steroids usage/effects prevalence. Similarly too much water under the bridge for the truth to come out about drug use at the highest level - my take is the actual truth would erode 50 odd years of records and competitions

But I'm a pessimistic bugger these days...

@Siam Yeah but what to do when you want to believe in the strawman?

    Definitely.

Good to see Michael Johnson denounce it. BBC gone disappointingly quiet

The Verve were right all along then.

The winning time was 30 seconds slower than the current world record time.

I'm a nieve 'innocent until proven guilty' watcher and put Mo's dominance down to hard work, tactical acumen, and a body shape suited to his chosen distance.
