I'm now thinking that everyone in the Warriors club must love the NFL & fantasy football - they always end their season just before the NFL kicks off.

It's only fitting that Lolohea, one of our discards, put us to the sword. Perhaps we should consider a name change from warriors to rabble. Like the blues, the warriors are systemically broken. They need tearing down and rebooting, we've lost our identity and lost our way. I can't believe we can't find some decent hardworking Aussies and some talented but serious local talent. Who is doing our scouting? The current batch aren't fit to lace the boots of the club's greats

Its pretty clear. For years we have heard that if we just had a more disciplined, structured game we could win the comp. If we stopped the ad-lib and played it safe we'd go alright. Less ball playing fowards and more hard runners....blah fucking blah.

I've seen the Warriors implode before. Its what, the fuck, we do! But usually we go out in style. Some flurry of brilliance that makes you think there's some hope there. Losing beautifully.

But this year its been a funeral procession. There was nothing to like about this season. I saw players who we had a genuine reason to be happy about signing completely exploit their contract, Im looking at you Isaac Luke and to a lesser extent Hoffman. And I have watched a world class half in Foran go into his shell as he has clearly not enjoyed his football.

No fused about losing Gubb, Lolohea or Manu. But losing Matulino and his care factor this season was huge. He'll be prop of the year next season. I know it splits opinions but Hurrell should have been retained and worked with. He was a cult figure and clearly has ability. I know would have felt better with him over Kata.

Im still hanging in there warriors but I have watched less games this season than any I can remember. I also stopped picking them to win in my work comp. That's the first time I have ever done that. I would blindly pick them previously regardless of the the odds. Not his season.

ffs, Blair is not a good signing. Warriors have had sweet fuck all success with Kiwi players who are known to blow hot and cold. On his day Blair is excellent, but his form in the last couple of years has been patchy imo.

Not so worried about Beale, but wonder where they see him playing? Centre? Wing?

If only you could buy an actual spine... or multiple spines!! we've got (some) talent, but are missing heart and dedication.

It was interesting to hear Hoffman talking about the hard work - he is well positioned to comment given his Storm experiences... hopefully he'd call a spade a spade if there really was an issue on that front. Wonder if he'll add further comment once he's back in Oz??

Adam Blair is a terrible signing. We need tough nuts in the Michael Luck Kevin Campion mould. Not "mercurial" guys like Blair and Luke

i think warriors Suporters will be disappointed in tohu Harris as well, particularly if he is on big money .

An honest player who performs his role , but not someone who is going to make a hell of a difference.

Will we never learn? Unless it's Cameron Smith don't buy role players from the Storm!

@canefan if I was asked beforehand, I would've picked Hoffman ahead of Harris as the player that could benefit the warriors due to his leadership qualities. That didn't work .

Harris is ok without being exceptional and is pretty introverted , can't see him making a hell of a difference

Lolohea has lost 6kgs since going to the Tigers - JK was saying 9kgs on The Breakdown.

Fat boys getting run over in the second half.

Get them fit or get out Kearney!

@Chris-B. Not to mention that Kearney couldn't get a tune out of Lolo and he didn't feel personally accountable enough and beholden to the team to put his head down and work rather than hit the piss

@canefan Not fit enough. Not mentally tough enough. Not professional enough.

Fix those things and you're in the ballgame, Kearney.

If you can't do it you might as well fuck off now.

Not sure where the hate for Adam Blair or ridiculing the Warriors for signing him is coming from.

It is hard to keep up, but isn't he the Kiwis captain?

He's a proven performer and leader with a hard edge to him. Just what the Warriors need IMO.
Yep sure he was poor at the Tigers, but that was what, a million years ago?

Now I'm no Warriors cheerleader, but where else are they supposed to turn?
It clear no top Aussie in their prime is going to sign for us, so again, what are they supposed to do?

Seems they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

@Gunner Im not sure but have you been watching Adam Blair the last few seasons? He was a horrible buy for the Tigers and a less than stellar buy for he Broncos. He's on the decline and that is not what we need.

That's because they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.... 🙂

Over the years the Warriors seem to have tried everything but sacking the dude on the emblem and the sausage sizzle bloke... and they're still a complete pile of shite. To borrow a quote, their performance over the last 20 years is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma...

Though on the plus side, I'm sure at the start of the 2018 season they'll be fitter than they've ever been before...!

Blair has been tapering off in recent years. He was shite for the Tigers but there was a fair bit of stuff going on internally at that time. He's been better with the Bronco's but I reckon that's due to a tougher approach on fitness and being a team player. A 3 year deal is a big risk imo.

More positive about Beale - he's a solid utility and hopefully is a good fit.

I'm worried we are creating a Kiwi's old boys club - unless we see clear evidence of the culture and commitment changing then we can expect the same results.

Roosters beat a depleted Broncos side 24-22 to advance to the semi-finals in two weeks time. Broncos will now face the winner of Manly/Panthers in Brisbane next week.

Adam Blair and Gerard Beale are average/mediocre signings. With long term deals, I suspect their cap hit isn't that high year-to-year.

Warriors made the best signing of the offseason by nabbing the Broncos trainer Alex Corvo. Ruben Wiki has been terrible as trainer and many of the players haven't been able to go the full 80 minutes. Warriors haven't had a tough trainer since Craig Walker.

Also, rumours now that the Warriors are interested in Peta Hiku again....Nepia will be pleased...

I am enjoying this game between the Storm and Eels. Parramatta looking over good (I thought Melbourne were almost unbackable favourites to win title?)

Kata, Hiku - it's the dream team.
