@rancid-schnitzel Agree. The yellow Canes home jersey competes with the Blues home jersey for the big fail award.

The blues also look likely to have a bunch of clashes with both jerseys too. Highlanders especially and maybe rebels, bulls, stormers and tahs depending on their Jersey designs.

@cyclops Yeah, I guess the Blues will have to wear their home jersey during the away game against the Highlanders, because the dark blue of their away jersey is indeed too similar to the Highlanders home jersey.

@taniwharugby Who puts that together and thinks, "Nice!"

It's more of a "Submission Dealine is tomorrow? But we haven't even started yet!" design

    @hooroo haha yep;
    Who did those?
I thought you were doing the Blues jersies?
Er, no that was your job!
    Um, I'm the janitor!

@taniwharugby I actually think the Canes home jersey is even worse. It's really awful. I could see myself wearing the Canes away jersey, although the trim and stripes on the shoulder look more light green than yellow in the picture. Would have to see the real jersey in daylight. Not that I'd buy any gear. Way too expensive.

This is no joke the description

The volcano towering over Eden Park may be dormant, but the Auckland-based Blues brim with explosive aggression at every home match. Displaying a graphic that mimics the ridges surrounding Mount Eden, this men's rugby jersey pulses with energy.

Blues taking Ls before the season has even kicked off - that's a new one.

@kiwimurph ah I can see it now...nah not really.

These marketing twats over think things a bit much, yeah its all cool for a jersey to have some great meaning behind it, but when it looks like shit, the supposed reasoning is wasted.

This is what happens when a clown wearing a suit with a t-shirt and no socks presents their vision, and no one else has the courage to be first to say; that's fucking shit and we're not paying for that.

So, when the Blues play the Highlanders in Dunedin - how will they wear their away jersey?

@kiwimurph Supplementary question - will people watching on TV be able to distinguish their home jersey from the Highlanders'?

Do they really make enough out of these jerseys to make it worthwhile having the two variations? I'd far prefer to see the Crusaders playing in red 95% of the time.

Well, at least the front of the jerseys and the back of the jerseys appear to have the same patterns. Won't need a slide rule to calculate whether an upcoming game may have a kit clash.

Unlike the hopeless ones from the previous batch where all the NZ teams seemed to have 'dark' back.

    Small wins.

@chris-b I think yes. Tahs don't always wear an away jersey when playing in Dunedin and don't have a problem.

Home and away jerseys are fine - where you get into trouble is when you have multiple colours on the home and away jerseys and so both end up being very similar. You need a clear distinction between both.

Blues home is almost all pale blue. Blues away is almost all dark blue.

Though I agree - i'd prefer teams wear their main jersey unless their is a clash - no wear their away jersey just cos it is an away fixture.

    Fuck me...

Now, I'm not really a stick-in-the-mud traditionalist, but seriously these get worse every year. They are all fucking terrible. Marketing people need to be beaten with a stick.
