Yea. I got another one this Friday. I'm not driving the cart this week.<br />
<br />
That sounds like a cracking hit TR<br />

<br />
I get them now and again!<br />
<br />
I played in a one a few years back where these dudes were drunk and rolled a cart down a hill doing donuts....luckily it was a Panelbeater day! -
haha I love corporate days. Always a chance to have a bit of a fun.<br />
<br />
Golf under the influence is always pretty interesting too. Used to play friday twilight at one of my clubs years ago and always used to have a couple of beers first and would usually score alot better for it. Had 26 stableford for the 9 one night and got given the burglar calls big time by the rest of the club house. -
Fuck. Yes. Corporate day today. Weather is unreal. Not a cloud in the sky, very slight breeze, 27 degrees. Cold beers and golf? Thank you very much

So picked up a set of new irons in the weekend and went for the Cleveland CG16s. Scored an 'as new' set on trademe for an awesome price. <br />
<br />
The CG16s are delofted like quite a few of the newer range irons so the 4iron is 21deg loft meaning not much need for a 3iron, especially give my hybrid 2 is 18 or 18.5degrees. Will take a wee bit to get use to my distances with these. There is also a bit of a gap though between PW (44deg) and SW (56deg) so will need to get AW (Another Wedge?) to at around 50deg to fill the void.<br />
<br />
So now all I need is a 3 wood. Most likely will go for a callaway razr X as I love my razr x driver. -
Be nice to be good enough for that stuff to mean anything. <br />
<br />
Great day Friday, my partner and I hit 7 over which was pretty handy given our relative ability. <br />
<br />
Hit a few shots I was stoked with including a 250m+ 3-wood that was laser straight, and a 9-iron 2nd shot 1m from the pin (we fucking 2 putted for another par).<br />
<br />
But as with any of these days golf and beers were the winners -

Other thing you need to be mindful of, although possibly not so much of they have been used a bit, is the grooves, they will tear the balls and also you will find for a while (although being winter not as much of an issue I guess) you get alot more hold or spin (if you are a spinner) when deciding what to play into greens. -

I carry four wedges in my bag. 58,54,50 abd 46 (Pitching Wedge) I recommend this as it's always nice to mplay full shots than half shots. But you're a better golfer than me so I'm probably telling you how to suck eggs! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
I need to upgrade my wedges, I have the standard Pitching wedge, a 52deg v groove spin wedge with 0 deg rake for those tight lies and then a 55 deg square groove spin wedge, I do need somethign higher, could easily ditch my 3 iron as I almost never use it, and when I do it is usually form under trees....
-
Nah you are right on Hooroo. I hate hitting half shots. An extra wedge might do me quite nicely. Maybe add that to the list after the AW and the a new 3 wood.<br />
<br />
<br />
And good point Taniwharugby, had read a bit about that due to the laser milled grooves. I dont get a huge amount of spin but do stop it pretty quickly with the shorter irons. Will be interesting to see how these go. -

I thought this was it?<br />
<br />
TSF Golf day like we did in London would be good.<br />
<br />
I suggest Whangamata! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />

<br />
i second this suggestion<br />
<br />
mainly because it's the only place I've seen your fat ar$e in the last year! -
So havent managed to find the time to get a round in but have had a couple of visits to the range with the new irons and they go pretty well.<br />
<br />
Much longer than I am use to and accuracy is still there but dam it all feels very solid with the stiff shafts. Makes a real THWACK sound on connection. I think its party due to the range balls pretty much being painted rocks so will be interesting to see how they go with some decent quality golf balls. -
Isn't it awesome having shiny new Irons!!!<br />
<br />
When I bought Pings, I didn't want to get them dirty <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
Had an awesome incident last Saturday.<br />
<br />
We were all playing OK with no one playing outstanding. IN general I was the long driver but one guy smacked a pearler and out did me by about 10 metres on the N05 stroke hole. Split the fair way in half. He was so stocked waiting by his ball while watching us play out 2nd shot.<br />
<br />
He completely shanked his second and biffed his club which made me start laughing as he is always so relaxed and never throws his toys but he biffed his club so well it went off the fairway and through the back passenger window of one fo the cars in the carpark. <br />
<br />
I was crying with laughter. -
haha holy shit! That would have been classic!<br />
<br />
Seen a few people lose it on golf courses over there years including a guy who smacked his 2nd [s]shit[/s] shot straight in to the trunk of a tree and then proceeded to try and chop it down with his 3 iron. -
when I was a bit younger, I was playing bloody well in a tournament, and hit a shot in some trees, I needed to play a low punch about 250m, so pulled out my 3 wood, which I nailed, problem was in the process I wrapped it round a tree trunk, snapping the shaft clear in half sending the head flying...toward my golf bag, and by some freak of the golf gods, has connected right smack in the middle of the shaft of my driver, which damaged it's graphite shaft as well...

I often tell that story -
I was on a golf weekend a few years back, on the first day my four ball were on the 12th tee and we decided to let the pair behind us play through, whilst hanging around on the tee waiting for them to clear the fairway, I was playing keepy uppy with an old ball on the head of my driver. We were stood on top of a very steep hill which dropped away to the left of the tee and wasn't part of the golf course, I flicked the ball up, took a running swing and absolutely nailed the ball about 300 yards off the top off the hill. Whilst feeling very smug and holding the baseball style pose watching the ball disappear into the ether, I heard a thunk as the top half of my driver landed at my feet, leaving me standing there holding just the handle. That resulted in a severe drinking fine later in the day.

Had my first round with the new irons on Wednesday. Found them to be really nice to hit and easier too control than my old ones. Still adjusting to the distances on them and struggled with the wedges alot. But overall I'm very happy with them. My driving was woeful though - kept pushing it down the righthand side and ended up losing 3 balls during the round.<br />
<br />
Still managed to shoot an 85 but it was the par 3s that saved me as ended up 1 under for those.
