Decent game that. Lakers looked gone at the end of regulation but hit some big shots. But then Spurs looked gone but LBJ misses free throws and a game winner.

    The Lakers look reasonably competitive

Its hard to say if the Lakers are competitve as the Spurs are flattering to deceive.

They played quite well against Houston until losing it at the end. They are still getting to know each other on both ends of the floor but they are very athletic. 3 point shooting is a problem which was not a surprise

Losing their two most consistent 3 point shooters and two best perimetre defenders are going to have an impact.

Then to lose your starting point guard and the promising rookie before the season started again is going to mess things up.

I think LA and DeRozan will work well together and others will find their role.

LA and DeRozan are good enough to win us a lot of games if they stay healthy. Not enough to make any sort of a splash in that fucking conference though.

@mariner4life but they will over achieve imo. My OKC on the other hand....fuck me dazed these guys make it hard to support them. Poor percentage shots are all we take and thr high percentage shots we do attempt we dont hit.

@mariner4life watching Barkley trying to list his eight teams in the West that would make the playoffs was funny because there’s probably 3-4 teams that you’d say are definites to make it and then it gets a bit interesting after that with 7-8 others that all could. It’s early days but my picks are:

    Definites
    Warriors
    Pelicans
    Rockets

    Most likely
    Jazz
    Denver
    Spurs
    Blazers

    In the race
    Lakers
    OKC
    Dallas
    Twolves (if Butler stays)

And getting shots too. Like his game.

He got okay minutes last season about 15 minutes a game. Even started a handful. But I heard the Nuggets GM talking about him preseason and it definitely sounded like he would get better minutes and feature in the rotation more this season and definitely happened in the first 3

Steph Curry is having some kind of start to the season. Early days but he’s averaging 33/5/6 and the 50/50/90 is on target.

OKC finally get a W (was only v the Suns)

Adams a DNS and his replacement plays a good one (20-15)

@crucial Nerlens Noel is very solid and he does have the ability to put Adams on the bench for some match ups, if he can live up to his potential and stay injury free. He's just not got anything close to the physicality Adams has which is what youd favour against teams that dont have traditionally strong inside centres.

The Cavs sacked Tyronn Lue yesterday. Life without LBJ in Cleveland is much tougher.

Given Lebron was the best player, the Assistant Coach, the General Manager, the PR guy, yes a completely different environment....

I watched the Nuggets on Friday, and never has the stark realities of NBA v NBL been more apparent. In Aus Torrey Craig was an athlete, just looked sharper than everyone on the court. In teh NBA he looks like a plodder, and in a few sequences i saw, was the last back down the court on every transition (working really hard on rebounding though).

I bought a Craig Nuggets singlet on the weekend because i don't reckon he'll be in the league long. Collectors item and all that.

Oh, and the Spurs are ticking along okay, good comeback win over the Lakers on Sunday.

I remember Josh Childress was the star of the ANBL. Because PHX would rather pay his wages and get rid of him than play him

Josh at least did have an NBA career before coming to OZ. Had 4 decent years with the Hawks as a double figure scorer.

Carved up in Europe before going back to the NBA

Klay Thompson with a half decent day out. 14 threes. 10 in the first half.
