@MN5 Nah wouldn't waste my breath.

Victorians blame him for having Hanscombe replaced. Because Victorians refuse to acknowledge shit form should matter

This is a pretty ordinary excuse for a test match so far. Dead pitch, uninspiring batting and impenetrative bowling.

This has draw written all over it.

@Damo Cummins has looked the only value the last couple of sessions. India only have to draw to retain the trophy. They'll want to bat all day today and grond us out of the competition.

Bounce has had a couple of surprises, mostly shit

@NTA the plan will be to bat all day today, and two sessions tomorrow, so they can declare declare at tea on the third day.

    Further to my previous comment.

I still believe that a players test record ultimately decides where he ( sorry SJWs I don't follow women's cricket ) sits in the echelon of greats of the game going back to all the classic old names like Bradman, WG Grace, Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hammond etc. Any fluffybunny can have his day in the sun top edging a bunch of sixes or alternatively getting a bunch of wickets when those edges become catches in the shorter forms......

But dominating the test arena decides where they sit in the pantheon of greats.

I hope that never, EVER changes and test cricket lives forever.

Pujara out for 106. India 303 for 4 scoring about 2 an over. A few quick wickets and Australia are back in this game. Perhaps this game might have some excitement yet?

@sparky pitch is going up and down. Cummins killing it.

But we've got to bat as well, and show Pujara-like patience with a bit more oomph

India dawdle to 7 declared for just shy of 450. Kohli wasn't going to expose his bowlers to more short stuff, and fair enough IMHO. Tricky 7 overs negotiated down to 6 after young bloke got rapped on the helm.

Aussie start again tomorrow at 0/8

@Damo only way we can win it is run down India before lunch on day 4 then push into a lead and try to rip them out on a wearing deck

I'll just leave this here. Some good points about some of the claims, that fuels my Warner like screaming hatred for the Aussie Cricket Team Elite Arrogance

Australia were far and away the funniest cricket team in 2018 – but who was their MVP?

The story of international cricket in 2018 is really just all the stuff that happened with Australia. This seems a bit narrow and exclusive for an end-of-year retrospective, so we thought we'd instead focus on all the funny things that happened in 2018 to try and broaden it out a bit. Nice @nzzp

Went down some rabbit holes following some of their links. Quite entertaining.

(They do seem to have forgotten/neglected the SBW stuff, which reflected more poorly on SA, but was a contributing factor in the ridiculousness of DW.)

    Just on my point here.

Think some of the pitch whinging has been a bit OTT.

Yeah the pitch is a bit dodgy but surely grinding out a decent first innings in a test is what test cricket actually is? Just coz it's not 360 for 8 on day one doesn't mean it's not good cricket.

I'll admit the Rahane lbw to Lyon was next to unplayable. But it's test cricket.

@booboo Yep, wonder if Aus were 220 for 2 if the wailing would be so whiney?

@Siam @booboo if it looked anything like survival to the end of the day as per the previous test, you might have a point. But at 2 wickets down, and very little swing or seam or spin, there was no excuse. They just dawdled, completely uninterested in getting anything like a challenging lead in a challenging time.

If Australia is touring and a substandard pitch turns up it is decried by the Aussie media as home cooking.

Australian groundsman prepare a pitch that overplays to Australia's strengths to teh detriment of the contest and the entire format of test cricket is the issue.
