Who is the AB's 4th choice at 10?
-
The next cab off the rank has to be playing in New Zealand - they're not going to open that can of worms for a third choice five-eighth.
-
Being that we are talking about 4th choice. I would be comfortable taking someone with a more limited game, who was a good goal kicker. I could see us taking someone like Marty Banks and working them in a role as a distributor and goal kicker and getting the guys around him to run the show.

I think at a WC, with a last minute injury replacement, we could see a test of the ‘must play in NZ’ rule. A healthy DC or Cruden would have a very strong chance, IMO.
But for the RC with this much time, they’ll have to bring on one or two people.
None of them are ready.
IMO, Parker is closest. The SWs run a bit, and he’s a fantastic kicker; a bit Culhane as @Kirwan mentions. Would they pick him though? Can they pick him? I guess not.
Cameron is technically the incumbent
But, no, Shirley?
Mitch Hunt and Marty Banks are the two who have produced under pressure at Super level. I think that gets one of them a place at a camp… I’d choose Hunt.
Black is getting better, but, an All black …this year? With the right support around, perhaps.
Ioane should be miles away. Perofeta is injured.
And, if they pick Marty fucking McKenzie I’ll probably have another stroke.
I’d like to see Jordie Barrett at first receiver for the Canes. I know that Boyd saw him as cover there, but I can’t remember him ever starting at 10. I can’t see how he can be the answer, although he has done well under pressure (Lions, test three) before.
So, right now I’d go with Hunt & Black to attend the next camp.

Is this an All Blacks thread? Just checking....
-
On current form I'd actually go Marty McKenzie. He's made a good job at the Chiefs.
Not popular, perhaps, but at least he takes the line on.

Aaron Cruden hasn't been the first choice at Montpellier this year and is remarkably injury-prone now:
-
And If Crotty moves to 10, it gives us a chance to slot Charlie Ngatai in at 13....

Personally, I'd now be looking seriously at Otere Black.
Would be wise to get him into the squad to give him some experience and see how he goes

Pretty sure you've spelt Ardie Saviour wrong. And you have the wrong position.

Ardie Saviour? Is he related to Ardie Surveyor?
Closely related to Istekau Dagg.

Ahh yes. The Dalmation Dagg connection.

Probably still better than Brett Cameron.

If Crotty isn't the first-choice 12, I like the idea of slotting him into 10 from time to time.
Crotty is an excellent player. Interchangeable at 2nd 5 or centre. Can pass off both hands with good proficiency. Courageous in taking on the line. But given he takes an eternity to get a punt off, the number of charge down opportunities available would send NZ rugby fans into meltdown....
