    @jegga He's hardly mentioned unfortunately.

Dilworth Karaka and Will Ilolahia get the most screentime. Will keeping everyone together and being the main catalyst for the reunion. Dilworth as the father figure through the entry and exit of the 30+ band members through the years.

Toni Fonoti and Hugh Lynn good value also.

Yeah they all acknowledged that Charlie was the best musician in the band, said he came back from overseas on another level to the rest of the group. Tragic that he died so young.

So, Eddie Murphy is making a comedy remake called Dolemite is my name. Leaving aside whether or not Eddie is funny any more, how can anyone top this?

And people complain about them ruining Point Break.

    Looking forward to this

Watched this today (started about 40 minutes after scheduled start time and was longer than stated so I missed the start of the Magpies game) and thought it was pretty good despite some obvious budgetary restrictions and an old school war movie feel to it.

Very anti the brass, makes them look like buffoons, whereas all the other officers are made to be top blokes. They put a lot of emphasis on 'six' whenever a Kiwi was speaking. 🙂

I'll have to watch the doco now and then do some reading for the 'real' story.

The doco is good, the book I read was a bit critical of some of the brass but really complimented the way some of the ncos and lower ranked officers integrated the conscripts with the regular force men to the point of insisting they were called short term regulars instead of conscripts .

Doco was really good. Glad I watched the movie first and then the doco so I wasn't looking for stuff to happen in the move. It was really interesting to see some of the actual guys involved.

Got a bit dusty in the room at times.

Where can one find the doco mentioned on this? I was a Vietnam War buff for many years focusing mainly on the US stuff that was available.

Recently met a vet from Long Tan and it has reinvigorated my thirst for material.

    Cheers

watched Alita BAttle Angel on the plane.

Wasnt a poor film, but seemed a fairly bog standard Sci-Fi with good SFX.

3 cyborg limbs out of 5 Jennnifer Connely is still hawt.

As famine dramas go that has to be the best. I haven't seen it but the last famine drama that I saw was ... well...not very memorable.

    A whole new genre.

Who here has seen Hobbs and Shaw?

Hobbs & Shaw is only the latest example of the franchise’s not-so-thinly-veiled homoeroticism.
