Saw half of Bohemian Rhapsody ( the things you do to impress a woman )
I’m not a Queen fan and they sure fucked with the timeline but the guys they got to play the band members could not have been cast better. Super stuff all round with brilliant performances.
Would be awesome to see a movie like this about a band that I actually love, maybe one day.

Just don’t think the demand is out there for Nickleback: The Movie.

I probably like Nickelback and Queen about equally.
I also see they’ve sold 50 million albums somehow, super effort for a band the whole world apparently hates

I'm not cool enough to hate nickelback, some of their songs are great.
Yeah I find the hate for them somewhat baffling to be honest. I mean they’re pretty bland compared to what I consider real rock but there are a truckload of worse bands out there in my opinion

I enjoyed it, but felt it was pretty much your bog standard bioflick until they reinacted the entire Live Aid set. That was absolutely amazing.

I didn’t see that bit and my statute for ‘impressing’ is over and I’m unlikely to bother....
Farting in front of her is only a date or two away

@antipodean when did the m16 get the upgrade to help clear the chamber? 47 seconds in the guy has an early version , thats decent attention to detail. Looks good, the doco made a few years ago and voiced over by Sam Worthington is on youtube now.

I believe the M16A1 (with the assist) went into production a year after Long Tan.
If it hadn't been for the work of (New Zealander) Captain Maurice Stanley's FO party, D Company would've been overrun. There's a reason artillery is called the King of Battle.

Yeah we talked about him when he died a few years back . He was the only thing keeping them alive till the apcs turned up.

Avengers Endgame.
Very epic and long, felt like a farewell from the start.
Hard to say much without spoilers. Will say it was sad to say goodbye to so many favourites, I’m going to miss The Hound, Arya, Jamie, Tyrion, The Night King and Sansa..
4.5 favourite avengers out of 5 fat jokes

The Highwaymen - Netflix film which tells the tale of the two Rangers who hunted down Bonnie & Clyde.
Only chose to watch this film because I've always enjoyed Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson films and it's probably the best film I've watched all year.
What makes it good (apart from Kev & Woody) is that I've never heard this story before since most stories always portrayed Bonnie & Clyde as lovable rouges and those chasing them as the bad guys (also the Rangers made a pact to never talk about it).
We don't really see the faces of Bonnie & Clyde until the final confrontation so we spend most of the movie watching the Rangers chase a boogyman through dusty roads and homeless camps. The way the director shoots it makes this work and adds some tension to the hunt.
The final confrontation is a great scene in terms of acting and cinematography.

@Sneakdefreak Yeah was a good watch, although a slow burn. Worth the effort though
-
Arctic - Mads Mikklesen survives a plane crash in the Arctic.
Movie is about his survival and his decision to stay or go find civilisation.
Was ok.

Endgame
Pretty epic. Liked it. Had to piss just at the bit where Tits catches up with The Arrow in Asialand. Fucking long movie. Felt a few of the emotional bits could have been hurried along a touch.
Two things bug me about this particular story arc - no spoilers as this is derived from the previous movie:
-
Thanos took out half the living population without doing the maths. Some nerd figured half the population could be back in a few generations.
-
I'm not convinced the entire world would come to a standstill in the fashion described with half the population gone.
Anyway, with a solid 5 out of 5 fat jokes
