Eastwood's The Mule.
Did I sleep through the bit where Clint got the blood on his face and arrested?2 this is an ok film out of 5 wtf happened after the cartel found him late with deliveries
Clint is the coolest mother fucker to ever walk the earth but even I thought this movie was a bit of a bridge too far, sort of a "why bother?" moment in his career, he's 90 next year.
Still decent enough overall though.

Probably. But in saying that every single other one apart from the awful Death Proof have some sensational scenes and dialogue.

I think we all did our Tarantino ranking in this thread a year or so back. IIRC it's in my top 3 with Pulp and Inglorious Basterds (but I may be 100% wrong such is my faulty memory).

Apt description.
I wish Michael Madsens schedule hadn't clashed and he coulda played Vincent Vega, as awesome as John Travolta was I suspect Madsen woulda been even better.

Looking forward to this
Watched this today (started about 40 minutes after scheduled start time and was longer than stated so I missed the start of the Magpies game) and thought it was pretty good despite some obvious budgetary restrictions and an old school war movie feel to it.
Very anti the brass, makes them look like buffoons, whereas all the other officers are made to be top blokes. They put a lot of emphasis on 'six' whenever a Kiwi was speaking.
I'll have to watch the doco now and then do some reading for the 'real' story.

Hobbs and Shaw might be the most fun I've had at the movies in years. Ridiculous fun

I enjoyed it too, total physics defying escapism

The doco is good, the book I read was a bit critical of some of the brass but really complimented the way some of the ncos and lower ranked officers integrated the conscripts with the regular force men to the point of insisting they were called short term regulars instead of conscripts .

Finally got around to seeing Venom last night. Have to say, not as bad as i thought, it was actually kind of fun. The Eddie/Venom chat was the obvious highlight

Went to see the Herbs documentary at the film festival on Saturday night, and a bonus Q & A session after the film with a few band members and the director of the film.
It was really good, highly recommend it. A nice mix of music (which the audience were encouraged to sing along to) and politics. Being born in 1980 I learnt a bit about the Springbok tour, Bastion Point, dawn raids, Polynesian Panthers etc that I wasn't really aware of.
None of the crap you often get in music documentaries with interview after interview telling you how important this band is etc. Some great rehearsal footage from the reunion concert a couple of years ago.
-
@jegga He's hardly mentioned unfortunately.
Dilworth Karaka and Will Ilolahia get the most screentime. Will keeping everyone together and being the main catalyst for the reunion. Dilworth as the father figure through the entry and exit of the 30+ band members through the years.
Toni Fonoti and Hugh Lynn good value also.

@SammyC sweet, I was talking to someone who knew this guy back in the day. He had a pretty impressive cv as well as being on herbs
Yeah they all acknowledged that Charlie was the best musician in the band, said he came back from overseas on another level to the rest of the group. Tragic that he died so young.

So, Eddie Murphy is making a comedy remake called Dolemite is my name. Leaving aside whether or not Eddie is funny any more, how can anyone top this?
And people complain about them ruining Point Break.
