so, what time is kick off in NZ (so i can work back and get the kick off here), is it 4 or 5?

It being Aus v NZ, most of my mates want to do something for it, but like Voodoo, going right through is pretty tough. Plus, i watched the semi with some friends and didn't enjoy it, i felt like i should be a bit more impartial, when really i wanted to rant at the TV. Plus i felt like i should have pants on...

I guess the big question is, after we win, what is an acceptable time to start getting drunk? Not sure i am ready to explain to my kids why i am having beer for breakfast...

We've won 2 world cups, I was too young to drink for the first one, so it's a rare enough event to have beer for breakfast.

I watched the quarter and semi, alone in my apartment but with a Facebook chat with some mates in NZ and at the games. I went to bed early and set the alarm both times, clearly no show of getting sleep afterwards. I contemplated heading out, or even going to London but after much thought, I will stick to a winning formula, can't change things up this late in the tournament.

So I'll set the alarm for 1:30am or so to give me at least 90 minutes to be fully with it. The only minor change I may make is a beer or 2 for the nerves. If we win, I'll turn that into a beer or 10 and head to meet up with some mates, if we lose I'm not sure what happens. Sleep will be unlikely, so it could be a long tired, grumpy day.

Sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself, and wish that I didn't care so much...but that's just hedging. It will absolutely be worth it if I get to drink all day Sunday.

god I have no idea where I'm going to watch it. Some stupid twat (me) decided to book in their 40th for Sat night.

Basically have no choice but to try and push on through. Which won't be easy. But fcuk it it's the RWC FINAL. surely I can stave off being an old ba$tard who can't stay awake past 1pm for one friggin night.

I have purchased a couple of trays of redbull.. think I'll buy some boxes of no doze!

will see how the night goes but hopefully watch it in town somewhere will be good to have some atmos.. not that I'll be remembering it most likely!

3am kick off for me, the worst possible time, I've generally been getting a few hours sleep and getting up for the game but I suspect that I'll be way too excited to sleep this week.

Although WTW, to be fair, there is little chance of you remembering the game and if you watch it in a public place in Auckland, no doubt you're get lippy to the wrong person and get toweled up!

Good times! :)

As someone who runs these races (at a very very slow jog SammyC), if I'd trained for months I would still give this one a miss. I enter the Melbourne Marathon every year but this year it would have required missing the quarter-final. No chance.

I'm sure the feminist professor with absolutely no knowledge on how to perform scientific sampling and basic statistical analysis could survey some runners to find people who don't care about rugby though.

The mother in law is in the local running club, they weren't very impressed with the timing but apparently the event calendar is set some time ago and is difficult to change. I would expect that entries will be down big time this year. Serves them right, fluffybunnys

Yeah, I remember when they first announced it and said it was the only possible weekend it could be run. I imagine the organizers would have been French and South African supporters the last 2 weeks.

yeh well it happened like this. Venue booking available.. 31 Oct.. or some random date in Nov.

then kinda went fark well if I don't book the venue for 31st then I'll be jinxing us making final.

So basically the reason we made the final was because of my decision. You may thank me now.

Won't be changing my current Sunday routine which is a 4 hour bike and a 2-3 hour run.. Quite enjoy these earlier starts as I can wake up, have a nice croissant, fresh juice and coffee while watching the game, then get into my training.

The 8am starts meant I was struggling to find the time.

I'm seriously questioning my worth on Earth

As this is the closest I get to being religious I can't see past the prospect of savouring every minute at home with me 2 hounds and screaming at the tele. 11pm Ko here

I find myself turning up my nose at watching it surrounded by multiple nubile naked nymphs all excited at the prospect of Halloween shagging and gagging.

Dear lord what have I become!!?

I got up and watched the SF on my own last Sunday morning. This weekend I will invite myself around to a mate's house to watch the final with them. We went to the 2011 SF together so I'm hoping for the same result. :)

BTW, I heard that they are trying to broadcast the final on a big screen in the Auckland CBD. I understand that NZR and I assume Sky TV will have to give the OK.
