Conflicting scaling on monitor can stop the extended screen working at all. I would try the second option given as a test.

@PecoTrain @Crucial nah the screens are quite different sizes, so maybe this is the issue...I probably dont have the authority to do some stuff.

got it working, is the fact they are set at different resolutions and the laptop screen is much smaller than the 2nd screen...

Due to screen sizes being different, the scaling between the 2 aint perfect, but I shouldnt be picky...
