@WS32119 I saw both star witnesses admit no wrong doing..and understand Biden Jr looks to now be implicated. Guess it depends whose reporting you trust. I expect the hearing to collapse.
I think it will stagger through on a partisan basis, and then be taken to trial in the Senate, where both Bidens , Scriff, the whistleblower, and Schiffs staff will be forced to testify under oath. Will be carnage. Not to mention many of the Democrat candidates will be taken off the campaign trail and be forced to spend all their time in the senate.... And be gagged .
See how it pans out when Democrats have ZERO power over witness calling and process. They are sinking with complete control over process and a compliant media..... They are rooted when it goes to trial. -

Trump is right that this a witch hunt based on hearsay and political partisanship.
This is true
That doesn't mean there isn't any wrong doing though. It's just shouldn't be considered anywhere near impeachable.. a censure from Congress seems about right
The Dems have massively overreached. I assume they thought they would stumble onto a bigger issue once they started questioning people under oath.

In addition it relies on the public believing that politicians doing wrong is serious AND unusual. Nobody buys that. Because it means you trust politicians.. And nobody smart does that. Indeed it is questioned immediately in this case by Bidens actions! So the public are left ask why this wrong doing is worth stalling,ever ruling an election and dividing the country over. And the answer is... It isnt

@Baron-Silas-Greenback Watching the live hearings.

I question your judgement. And I don't believe you.

@WS32119 said in US Politics:
@Rembrandt you do not have a good grasp of what is going on here. Listen to Dr Hills testimony and if you have time today's hearings in their entirety.
It's always possible, sadly I don't have the time to listen to these testimonies so am relying on the few sources I have any trust in to form my opinion, but I'll try and find this Dr Hill's testimony and have a listen and let you know what I think

@Baron-Silas-Greenback There is also a world of difference between taking action for personal gain and taking action that results in personal gain. Every single presidential action could be argued with the latter. The former has to mean you only acted in your self interest for gain. I think Ukraine interference and Democrat corruption is in the countries interest. Biden does not get a free pass because he is a politician. The left seem to forget it is actually Trumps job to do this.. He was voted in.
-
@WS32119 Well I listened to her opening statement and Nune's questioning over her...how is she even relevant to this phone call again? Her opening statement was basically "I'm impartial because I chose to be an American and have served under 3 presidents both Republican and Democrat, also Russia election meddling".
From what I understand about American politics partisionship isn't just Democrat vs Republican but also Establishment vs anti-establishment. She sounds to me like someone very partisan toward the establishment.
Just seems like the same old tired debunked smears being pushed against Trump without any new evidence.

I genuinely thought was parody.
-
I genuinely hope Dems vote for impeachment and not merely a censure.
Fortunately, Sondland's testimony might be enough to get it there.Once in the Senate
- Republicans control process.
- No one can refuse a subpoena in a Senate trial and this is an established judicial precedent.
- They are allowed to take the 5th, but of course it won't look good.
- Dems' have now played their best hand with Schiff disallowing several Repub' witnesses they wanted called + disallowing certain lines of questioning that may identify the whistleblower and Schiff's staff's interactions with him prior to the complaint being lodged.
- Republicans will call the whistleblower, and don't even have to say it is the whistleblower - just call him by name. Rand Paul has already named him.
- The whistleblower certainly has something to hide and must not help the Dems', otherwise Schiff would not have reversed course and decide to not let him testify.
- Republicans will call Hunter and Joe Biden.
- Sanders , Warren and Harris are stuck in the Senate and can't campaign.
- This will strongly motivate the Republican base because they will see the Senate defending Trump. (Trump is far more popular with registered Republicans than the Senate and House Republicans. )

@Baron-Silas-Greenback and accused me of lying about watching the hearings. You’re wrong again

So funny. You actually think trump is “draining the swamp” he is the swamp. If you think trump was acting in the countries interest through all of this, either you haven’t watched the hearings, or your judgement is clouded by your political beliefs.
-
Yeah yeah... But your argument thus far is non existent on facts. Just opinion and claims that anyone doesn't agree with you doesn't know the facts. What facts am I missing?
Of course I haven't watched all the hearings. But neither have you.... -

Wondering if anyone else is watching the hearings. It’s pretty obvious that trump is guilty of using his office for personal political gain. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.
It’s extraordinary. Beyond the pale-level corruption. Only a lowlife like Trump.

Where did I say that Biden is the answer? Your assumption that I’m a democrat shows your bias
