@chimoaus I had a similar experience shopping for a tie. Being a tight bastard I was looking in the sale offers and saw one I vaguely liked. £10, or two for £5. On enquiring if this was a misunderstanding I was told "No. If you buy one it will cost you a total of £10, if you buy two it will cost you a total of £5".
I thought this was stupid, so I bought two and threw one in his rubbish bin.

Yes even at £5 i experienced severe buyer's remorse as soon as I got home. It swiftly became a Christmas present for my brother -in-law.

I know shit gets cheaper when you buy in bulk but I still find this odd at the supermarket. 1.5l of water is 70c or get 600ml for a $1.
My guess is they know they can charge you more for the convenience of having a bottle that is portable and you can easily drink from, rather than something you would store in your pantry or fridge at home.

Ha well happy to put my hand up and admit I might have got this wrong. I thought it meant first recognised peoples in an area but looking up the definition there is a lot more to it. Feel free to mock away!
