Saders a bit too good at the end of the day, despite letting the Tahs back into the game briefly,
Flexed their muscles when they need to , no more better illustrated than Ramano’ cameo off the bench
Quite happy to cut these guys some slack given the heat we are experiencing at this time of the year , last nights game in Australia was played in ridiculous heat not to mention round 1 in 2019 was played on 15th February, that’s 2 weeks from now...

I am not surprised regardless of wether they have training and have played the odd preseason game we are seeing a lot of errors, there’s defined a lot of humidity around .

from a Tahs piece , Rob Penny will probably feel a little frustrated that chances were not taken and some of the first up defence shoddy , but given they had several on debut , it’s not a bad staring point ..

Young gun Harrison at 10. By all accounts he is the real deal.

    Harrison and Nawaqanitawase

Well Harrison got a lesson. Welcome to First Grade young fella.

Nawaqanitawase looked the goods after some early struggles.

think the game last night was the first Super game in Jan...? Was 2007 they played first weekend of Feb as well, but usually mid-late FEb

@taniwharugby to be honest , it really is ridiculous starting this early given the heat and humidity alone , there will be some who will say , that’s what they get paid for, but in my opinion , it does not make it right ..

I think it should be better next year with the round robin competition. But, yeah, I actually liked having the tests in June and the Super Rugby break. That was much maligned but now it is gone we have to start the season a lot earlier. It's a trade off.

    @hydro11

This season is already shaping up to be a season of haves & have not

Clear gap btw the likes of Crusaders Jaguares Chiefs Canes & Brumbies and other 11 SR teams

RR format starting next year can't come soon enough 18 weeks from start to finish instead of this season which will be 21 weeks

@Machpants Yeah, and I think we can only really know how strong teams are when they can actually use all (fit) players as long as required, without having to take into account the ABs' return-to-play protocols.

Good to see we didn't fall apart when Richie got subbed off. Still not sold on Cameron though.

Has Havili ever played at 1st Five ? He could be a good back up to Mo'unga in case of emergency. The Crusaders could play Jordan or Bridge at fullback if he has to move there.

@Stargazer Yeah Havili is a bit of an 'every position from 10 out' type of player

I did not expect my question to be so quickly answered by the Crusaders staff ... (see the lineup against the Chiefs).
