I wouldn't want to choose between the Lakers or the Clippers in the West at this stage. They still have to play each other one more time and home/away will mean nothing in this series once the playoffs start.

What I love it the thunder are ahead of the rockets. Suck on that russ. Also they could finish with higher regular season wins then last 2-3 years

Suns beat the Blazers and Giannis-less Bucks over the past couple of days. Think we still have a couple games left in a solid home stand. Need to win a few more though to challenge for a play off spot. Booker seems to have his mojo back now after a quiet patch post-ASW, and Aron Baynes has had possibly the two best consecutive games of his career.

No clear fav. I'd still rank the contenders Clips, Lakers then Bucks, with a decent gap to the next tier of Boston and Houston, then Utah, Toronto, Philly.

Giannis still has to prove himself in a 7 game series when coaches have entire have plans around clogging the paint to keep him out. Can he get out and run enough? Will he pick up his 3pt %? Can his teammates hit the 3 at a high enough clip to spread the floor for him?

    WCF's will be fucking epic.

Why the hate for Russ? He’s been superb this season despite being coached by a crazy man 😎

At the end of the day the Thunder didn’t make any moves that would keep him loyal any longer, so he wanted to go and play with his good mate Harden.

I’m pleased for the Thunder but Paul is a better fit for the players that remained. It just sometimes works out like that.

I’d actually rate Toronto above the Celts. There’s an edge to the Raptors that when they are all healthy still have a deep roster.

@ACT-Crusader it would be a great series. But I still don't trust Siakim to be the #1 guy on a deep playoff run. Lowry is great, Gasol still solid, but guys like FvF/Ibaka could easily go missing in a big series. I think they're a regular season team right now, much like Miami - too easy to figure out come playoffs.

I can't understand why anyone hates Russ. At the end of the day he brings an intensity and energy every single night that most players don't ever come close to.

Yeah he hasn't been the greatest decision maker in his career. But he seems to have made the adjustment late to taking no 3's, and wow is it working. Credit to him for making the change.

Watching him at full speed, determined to get to the bucket, is a thing of beauty.

His career is also a perfect reminder of how a players legacy can be shaped by coaching and ownership and sometimes dumb luck.

Just imagine if they had Riley or Jackson - or even Spo or Kerr or Nurse! - over Scott Brooks? Watching Russ, KD and Harden play with zero offensive structure was the most disgusting waste of talent in NBA history.

Then the trade happened, we don't need to go into that, but imagine if they paid 1 year of lux tax as Harden developed then they realised that taking a pay cut to stay together was an option. All of a sudden Russ has 3 titles (as does Steven Adams...), and maybe Draymond and Bogut have a bit less jewellery ...

The NBA is a strange place.

@voodoo I'm pretty sure Adams' draft pick was part of the Harden trade. Otherwise I agree that OKC would be right up there in terms of wasting talent. 3 future regular season MVPs all drafted on the same squad. San Antonio turned that into 5 rings

@canefan Yeah , think you're right re Adams. Think you get my point though, its a fickle league where the best guys (even the best role players) don't always get the ring they deserve.

History is littered with HoFers who never won rings. A lot of things need to go right, and a little luck helps too

Lakers are winning this year. Sometimes you have to follow the story, the narrative, the vibe. And it all points one way.

It's LBJ rolling back the clock at 35 to play some of his best basketball. It's Kobe's legacy guiding the Lakers to a title in the year of his passing. It's Davis proving the doubters wrong.

The victories against the Bucks and Clips really meant something these last few days. As long as neither player gets injured, I have the Lakers beating the Bucks in 6 in the Finals.

and, for reasons i can't quantify, that will fuck me off

I don't like LBJ. I respect the fuck out of him, but i don't like him (he's NBA Tom Brady).

LBJ and John Cena both have funny as fuck minor roles. Amy Schumer tries to look hot and whilst that never works for her, you still find yourself thinking her tits would be alright. Watch it.

Lebron is actually pretty good in it. Surprisingly good actor.

I like LeBron mainly because I think the haters are so extreme and totally unjustified. Buy all accounts he is a great guy, does amazing things for charity, and has barely put a foot wrong in a life that has played out on the most public of stages since he was 15 years old.

His major problem is that he just isn't effortlessly cool (like Curry, MJ, even Kobe) and he desperately wants to be, despite being so clearly focused on his brand. I always thought that post the decision, he should have embraced the bad guy persona. Just own it and run with it. Guess it didn't fit with the brand he was cultivating.
