Does Vikings have 2 different versions? The one I've seen has had nudity. Not on Banshee levels, but it was there.

Did you see nipples (female)?
-

Yes, but skip the final season.

Ahh, it's not that bad. Not as good as the first couple of seasons, sure.

More enjoyable if you accept it moves from being plot driven to character driven, and just enjoy the acting/music. Hard to stick the landing, and agree they didn't. Great show though.
-

Also, Jessica Jones was great, possibly better than Daredevil.

Starts really, really slow (I temporarily gave up around four episodes in) but if you make it half way, the payoff for the things they set up is great. Literally yelling at the TV :)
-

Certainly did. I haven't really watched it much, but the wife was into it. I sometimes used to tune in and it seems my timing was impeccable. Ragnars wife gets her kit off before he meets her. Some of his men were ogling her in a stream and she demands an apology. That younger chick (Bjorns squeeze)did a spot of skinny dipping. I also recall a queen getting a touch of s&m from some fat bearded dude. -

I don't think you get any nipple, just side shots etc - which doesn't really count as nudity. If Largetha had properly got her kit off we would probably still be discussing it.
-
Pretty sure there was nipple. The queen chick definitely had them out when she was getting whipped. Lagertha is ridiculously hot.

The Spartacus series is without doubt the pinnacle of gratuitous violence, sex, and nudity. Nothing comes close unfortunately. -

I like that book

-

up to you. They're good books though

Ah yeah, I remember that now (the crazy Queen) - I think that just because Lagertha doesn't get naked I've obviously blocked all the other nudity in the show.
-

None at all? May as well stick to GOT and Banshee then......

Well, I was wrong, Rancid discovered the nudity that I had completely forgotten about!

So apologies for that! :)
-

Should I read it or wait for the series?

Read the book.

Its one of the best hard gritty sci fi books out there. Its basically Raymond Chandler in the future. Chinatown with lasers. LA Confidential meets The Matrix. Its fricking great. And its standalone, you don't need to read the others.

The stand alone sequels are solid but not in the same league. He hit his peak book one. One of the seminal sci fi novels about, up there with Neuromancer, Snow Crash, Use Of Weapons etc

It got optioned as a movie the day it came out & no one could figure out how to make it. Or at least without spending $200m on a hard R rated movie. Bit like Neuromancer in that regard. Guessing "The Expanse" getting made has led the way on that & the likes of GoT showed graphic violence & nudity & lead charcters getting their face shot off & so on doesn't stop it finding an audience.
-

Cheers, Gollum. Will check it out.

A reservation: as a biotech and microfabrication researcher, the "uploading minds" bit will hit my, very specific, inability to suspend disbelief.

One you accept that a brain is just RAM in a goo form designed to process electrical impluses & the electrical impulses are the key bit, it works. It doesn't push the science elemnent too hard so the "how" aspect is never really explained, leaving a bit of room. Maybe the Sleeves (new bodies) are a hybrid etc, so you sare only 60% uploaded, but don't remember what wasn't uploaded. Like porting an Amiga game to an Atari ST. The ST version doesn't know its sound is shit compared to the original.
