@canefan My mates of middle eastern extraction have bought hoses for their bathrooms (well long before this kicked off) ... maybe I should have grabbed one at Bunnings that day.
No problem only solutions

@barbarian mt Gambier Barbs. Admittedly a real outlier in terms of Aus towns. Voted liberal every time for 40 years, huge natural resources timber, wealthy with old money ( and the meth capital of Australia. Very conservative folk with an older popn.
The sense of urgency or importance I get from other countries seems to be lacking which is my point. I wonder if it'll work ( hope so), but a lockdown of nz proportions seems inevitable, which may take some bedding in
Maybe it's simply country town behaviour vs city behaviour

I've been using one for 3 years - you can take the kid out of Asian but....
My mate advertised the bum gun on line for $200 fitted. Got 2 customers last count😃

Oh, they did much cheaper low fi solutions to that, just bought the hose at Bunnings and got a tap attachment.

I wonder if the urgency we see in other countries is also a city-based phenomenon.
For example, in the US we see a lot of lockdown content in LA/NY etc. but has it reached smaller towns in Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri?
Even in Italy I know that the rural areas in Tuscany are doing OK, not 'business as usual' but not the full-scale panic in cities like Milan.
When you are a long way from a case I can understand you don't feel the same urgency as those in the big cities. The problem is if the virus does reach these small towns it could be really ugly as they tend to have older populations and poorly resourced healthcare facilities.

hence remote aboriginal communities being locked down since last week

@mariner4life We have effectively stopped physically accepting clients into our building. From Monday I think I will be working from home. But I think I could effectively work at the office without catching anything. Noone is allowed in my office. We all talk via phone now. The lunchroom is 2 at a time. We have almost contactless entry the building as well. I basically get in my car, straight into my office and the reverse on the way home.
To be honest I fucking love the ability to close off my office and not be bothered by anyone. It's better than having a home office. No noise, no kids playing xbox. No being tempted to rub one out in the middle of the day....Pornhub Premium is free afterall.

silver linings...
i reckoned we'll be confined to homes next week anyway. Qld is "closing" the schools.
I'm prepped. It's kinda nice how quiet it is here though, just like the christmas/new year period.

Some more information came out in Taiwan today as to how they got prepared earlier than most other countries.
When they heard whispers of problems in Wuhan, they sent two experts over there to the area. (presumably undercover).
They came back and told the Taiwanese govt. the Wuhan situation was very, very serious.
In an article I read Taiwan asked the Chinese government if they could send observers, and China obliged. Here is a similar article
The article is waaaaay back in the thread. You must catch up 🙂
