Most of my biggest mistakes were from leather or suede jackets. I think the idea of them is better than the reality

I do sometimes tempt myself looking at the “classic” special re-runs you can get online from Levi such as a US$1200 60s suede trucker

Lee Jeans and work trousers are really cheap on amazon. Once you work out sizing. The new rules have reduced that slightly but it's still good. I used to order sports fan stuff from fanatics but the GST rules have made this less attractive unless the gear is on sale

@canefan I've rarely had that problem and more often than not returns are easy anyway.

In the case of amazon it's fine if you send the goods directly home. But if you ship to a forwarder then home (because they don't ship to NZ) they will only spring for the cost to send back from the forwarder. In my experience

Yeah I burned through three in quick succession last year before scoring a Boss Orange leather / fabric hybrid on sale for $700. It's so much more versatile than an out-and-out leather jacket.

On me it either feels too restrictive (leather moto) or feels heavy and shapeless (bomber)

I buy my work chinos from ASOS for NZD52 each but often buy multiple pairs when a discount is on offer which makes them as cheap as chips.

    I fucking hate online shopping.

I just want to go into the shop and buy the fucking thing.

I just bought my first piece of online clothing during lockdown, a macpac padded vest so I can cycle during lockdown in freezing Wellington. It's too big. What a pain in the arse exchnaging it is going to be.

Locally I like the stuff from 3 wise men. Good patterns, decent quality for reasonable prices. And regularly on sale

Same here. Have two suits and three blazers from them and a number of shirts. All on sale, although it helps I'm friends with the local manager so she gives me a heads up on when the sales are coming up.

The only disappointing thing was the inability to buy different sized suit jackets and pants. I cant buy them because the pants are always a couple of sizes too tight. But everything else is all good
