Peston is the Bob Beckman of the 2000's. Like a broken watch he's 100% accurate every day.
Peston is a man so much in love with himself and his own schtick it is painful to watch.
Watch this Peston interview masterpiece. Painful but strangely, hypnotically watchable

A preliminary study of 3,000 New Yorkers found that 13.9% tested positive for coronavirus antibodies, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday. The revelation provides further evidence that the coronavirus spread earlier and infected more people than official tallies show.

Wasn't really sure where to put this.
Interesting to see that the things which have kept children and parents sane during the lockdown are:
Music
Art & Crafts
PE
Cooking (Home Ec)Subjects which are seen as second grade in school and which are all underfunded.

Human trials for the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine have started:
I'm our companies Pandemic Manager. Part of this role means I send out a Daily Report on developments globally. (Thanks Fern great source) Someone at work sent me this. Presumably relating to the trial.
My baby brother has been asked to do trials for Coronavirus testing on new drugs ). Each winter when his work is quiet he does a week or two being the guinea pig – god knows how he got into that but he gets paid when his work is quiet, so he’s been on their register for years. It’s usually not anything dangerous they inject him with. He normally gets about GBP1k to 1.5k for a few days to a week but he has been offered GBP4k to 4.5k for this one - they have to inject him with Corona. He says the strain used will be a very low one, and they take out certain things (I don’t know the technical terms), plus he is a good age 39, fit, no prior conditions and so on.
I hate him doing these trials but he says it’s not just the money now, he feels like he should do it, it’s getting to the stage there where it’s too close for comfort. He lives back at home with Mum is in her late 70s, my middle brother round corner they look after between them (is up and down with lung disease/mental illness) My home town is near xxxxx hospital, where it seems to be spreading rapidly. 2 of my personal friends now have it, and one 1 of my brothers close friends has it, and has been taken into hospital. My 2 friends both work at the local hospital and said it is chaotic, many patients just constantly moved around for space, wards full, facilities lacking, PPE lacking, training is lacking. And they are only at what management call the 1st (low) wave so manageable level - but they are expecting 6 waves. xxxx had mild symptoms but is getting worse. She says she doesn’t want to go into hospital as she feels she will come out in a body bag (it’s that bad) – and she works there.

The come and get tested website has crashed on its first morning. Didn't see that coming.

I think it should be mainly open on weekends.

What an ignorant tosser Barnes is.
Assuming Bale earns £15m a year, his 500k donation is 1/30th of his income - the equivalent of an average bloke on an average wage donating £1,000.
It's an impressive donation from Bale regardless of how you measure it.

TBF, I hear it's been difficult this far to get people to book & use drive-in testing using available capacity when it's been offered at hospitals and care homes
So they may be pleased they have cracked that little problem....

Yep.
And Bale did the same in Spain.

Fatty #### Barnes should talk less shit and eat less food. The resulting savings to his wife's weekly shopping bill should be donated to the NHS and would keep his local hospital going for a month.

You bastard. Think of the food industry & supermarket jobs lost if Barnes went on a diet

Saw it reported that no crash, just all daily slots (which?) taken.

Been trying to sum up the utterly crass and inane questions that get asked at the daily press conferences until this popped into my FB feed...
