Lockdown/Covid Check In

The other half and I have had dinner/lunch somewhere reasonably decent on FIVE occasions since Level 2. Hospo staff are ( so far ) following procedures really well and you can tell they're genuinely pleased to get the business.
On top of that we spent close to $300 on piss from the Wairarapa. So good seeing some of the vineyards open again. I'll try and sustain this lifestyle as long as I can with all the money I saved while being chained to the desk at home.

How are everyones kids faring through this? We have some seriously heightened emotions with ours, the miss especially. So quick to tears!
I reckon they miss the interaction, routine, and sport/activities way more than I expected .
I thought this said something else and can confirm the stench in the car on Sunday was horrific.
My boys and their little half siblings have done brilliantly. The weather has meant they’ve been able to go for a walk/bike ride/kick around virtually every day. Basketball season is obviously on hold but their PS4 skills have put mine to shame even more now. They’re genuinely happy to be back at school now too, catching up with their mates and even their teachers has been great for them

Kids took it in their stride, but happy to get back to school now (parents too)

my kids have been bloody good i reckon. for a couple of boys of that age, stuck at home, no mates, no sports, their fucking grandparents here adding another couple of adults bossing them around? I reckon they have been brilliant.
-
@mariner4life I didnt kill them, so thats a win right?

Kids have been pretty good, lots of video chat with friends and cousins helped. My boy asked to be home schooled!
Have said their school is now like a prison, they have chain link fences up everywhere splitting up the school.

The world just got a whole lot better.
I went there once and they’d run out of... chicken.
-
@Catogrande that must have been a couple of years ago then? I was in NZ when that happened. Thank fuck.
Although it did happen to me in Wellington about twenty years ago.

Yeah a few years ago. Was the evening of the FiL’s funeral. We all ended up at the Cricketers near Perry Hall Road and needed some sustenance. All we could get was some popcorn “chicken” and heaps of chips. Bloody funny funeral, first one I’d been to where they all posed for photos like at a wedding. Then some pigeons got into the crem at Beckenham and started shitting everywhere. Followed by the classic quote “Doves. Nice touch”.
Lots went on but I remember the lack of chicken most clearly.

@Catogrande oh, that end of town.

It’s still not the Cray though 😱
-
@Catogrande shit, honestly have only been to the white heart down that way. If we're heading down high street it's usually to somewhere like Pato Lounge which is good for a feed and a beer.

The White Hart still going then? There used to be three or four all within a few yards. The WH, the Anchor & Hope, The Artichoke. It’s like losing a close relative.
-
@Catogrande it's still going, I'm pretty sure it was the one we went to a couple of times when we started looking here. Well priced, no frills eh. Not as well priced as Sovereign of the Seas though 😬
-
@Catogrande have you been to the bull's head at Pratt's bottom (no seriously)?
It's well placed for us for a good sunny day walk and booze up so thinking it might be early on the out of lockdown list.

When I worked at KFC we ran out of chicken a couple of times, usually late on a Sunday (delivery was Friday) after an overly busy weekend...people were not very understanding, can't understand why.
