    @Nepia Robin Williams was almost always excellent in a serious role.

    Many of the great dramatic actors are/were also brilliant at comedy. Alec Guinness, De Niro & Ralph Richardson spring to mind

    @Tim I've seen five of the movies on the women's list. I'm astonished men have watched Brokeback Mountain.

    @Tim Didn't we have this list before and @Hooroo was talking up the Harry Potter movies? 🙂

    I've seen 6 of these movies but only 2 in the top 10.

    I should point out I haven't seen any Harry Potter movies. Nor will I.

    @Tim I thought this was neat until I realised I'd seen 7 off the women list and 3 off the men list.

    On closer look, I've seen 4 (maybe 5) of the "mens" movies. But that well lags my chick flick count, and I've even never seen a Harry Potter movie.

    I haven't even heard of 3 of the top 5 men's ones

    @Tim oh most of them are harking back to a past life as a stepdad. But yeah.

    15 men's : 8 women's

    The count is wider if it's which ones I enjoyed

    @antipodean so that and Raging Bull are the only ones I've definitely heard of in the top 5. That would make 3/5 I haven't heard of. If FAFDM is Clint then I can add one more I guess.

    @Tim

    I've only heard of Das Boot and Raging Bull. So not #1, #2 and #5

    I am a movie heathen

    Edit, I've also never heard of #6, #9 and #10.

    Not so much heathen as philistine!

    Admittedly I don't expect people to know the two Indian language movies in 5 and 6! Never heard of them either
