Just a shit thing for a young family to have to deal with. Her husband has been a fucking marvel.

Blimey, why wouldn't you at the moment!!
That standing Singapore offer I've got still looking pretty strong.
Hopefully won't come to it though.

@voodoo would be Melbourne or Brisbane, I don't think I could handle the heat in Brisbane for 6 months of the year as much as Bonesetta would love it. Ideally split the year between both but probably would end up being a bit shit. Could possibly wangle Sydders, that would usually prove problematic as we don't have an office there, but things have changed on that front I guess eh.
@MajorRage yeah we've been seriously/jokingly discussing NZ, but thought it's probably best to wait the year out and reassess next year. Good to know there's a bloody strong option there now. We only just bought the house a year ago and absolutely love it, plus still trying for baby bones, so a fair bit to work through.

I'd def go Mlb over Brs. The weather for one as you say, but just generally stuff going on. Brisbane is easy, no traffic, relaxed etc.. But you know where else they say is easy living? Fucking Palmerston North.
Melbourne is fun, it's alive, has a culture. Amazing food. It's no Northern Beaches of Sydney of course, but it goes close.

Yeah have spent a fair bit of time in both thanks to work the last couple of years, really like Brs but Mlb definitely has an appeal to this Welly boy. So that settles it, Ulla Dulla it is!

I spent NYE one of 2001/2/3 can't remember exactly at the Ulladulla bowling club.
Was fucking terrible if I'm honest, though we had a crew of 12 that could have fun anywhere.
Beautiful spot though, nice golf course too

Seriously. I love Melbourne but not because of its climate. Why do you think all the Mexicans head north for winter? Although I guess if you're from Welly then the wind and cold won't worry you.
Fucking shit climate. I was at a Boxing Day test a few years back and it was fucking freezing. Two hours later it was in the mid 30's.

Melbourne is awesome to visit, but because of the weather not to live.
Hell, I'm acclimatised to mild Sydney winters so there's no way I'm handling Melbourne's winter.

Yeah I like it too. Great place, good food, always something happening sports wise, art galleries, shows. Very cosmopolitan.
As for this:

Yep. You either have an airmass from Antartica (or at least the Southern Ocean) or one from a massive desert under a baking sun. A northely is sweltering, a southerly bloody freezing and not much in between.
