@Snowy given the reason for handshakes was supposedly to show you werent carrying a weapon (given everyone is right handed...) would seem it is no longer required, well, except places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Alaska etc
I should have added "or shoot me" to the end of my comments. Actually quite a few places that might still require it but with the number of lefties it actually would have to be both hands, and then somebody drops a beer and all hell breaks loose.

I'm a compulsive handshaker.
I had a couple of business meetings just as this was all kicking off, and they were with people i had never met. As we had already moved away from handshakes, it was sort of weird, no one really knew how to end the meeting. It usually ended up with the host awkwardly looking at their watch, and saying the needed to be somewhere else, and walking off.

I just air fist bump everyone these days. Although, you kind of have to say it as you do it if you don't know the person.

I just turn around and yell into the closest wall "NO I DON'T HAVE YOUR FUCKING CHILDREN" and hey presto, turn back around and everyone is gone.
why are you lying to the wall?

on to lighter matters
Will Covid finally be the death of the kiss greeting?
I fucking HATE the kiss greeting. It's awkward, you are never sure when it's appropriate. SOme people over do it. Fuck it off
Oh god yes. We have a lot of family gatherings and my wife’s family is massive. Takes 10-15 mins to leave.

@mariner4life I'm an advocate for the handshake. Tells you heaps about the bloke in front of you.
The Thais and Buddhists have the best post COVID greeting gesture🙏

@MajorRage Just drop a loud fart. They’ll clear you out of there in no time. For added fun blame your wife.
That's what I do!
Naaah I don't know his wife.

Well the other night in bed she spoke very highly of you.
At least I think that’s what she said, her mouth was full.
Well, when I say “full”, I mean “not completely empty”.

@JC when she said she loved bones, she meant more than one at once, not the poster.
You still have that poster of me? Still waiting on payment for that.

Another article on excess deaths, this time from bbc.
Adds some more locations not being tracked by the FT and The Economist.
South Africa, Peru and South Africa are amazing. SA for the opposite reason! Also looking at 2 cities in Russia and 6 cities in Brazil. Which not covered by other excess deaths tracking articles.

Interesting, thanks, @Rapido . Would be VERY interesting to compare Northern Ireland and the Republic.

The first thing a handshake tells you about the man in front of you, is whether the man in front of you is dumb enough to give a shit about handshakes.
After that, it's just flavours of chump. -

What does a handshake tell you?
It can tell you that the guy has taken an instant dislike to you and wants to crush you. Which I believe @Hooroo has done to several people on here. I've never met him by the way.
