Welcome to our world of the last few years. It sucks. The coaches seem happy with plodder forwards but it won't win us games.
Looks to me he hasn't gone for plodders he's gone for mobility. Not sure you want to sacrifice a strong forward pack against the Evil Empire. Basically conceded the forward battle to contest it wider.

No, the Canes never seem to publish an injury list, unfortunately. And since Hamish Bidwell left stuff and doesn't report on the Canes anymore, we don't get the info via the media anymore, either. I'm not a fan of Bidwell as a journo, but amidst the rubbish, he managed to include some useful facts.

@Nepia Must be. SB is a great lock, and all black lock, and on a different planet than any Canes lock. Jordie Barret is a an all black, multi position player - and (despite brain farts) is still better than the majority of backs in NZ. ACT is saying he wouldn't pick either of them in a combined canes/dockers team - no way you've got to be terminally biased to not pick those that are 1st/ almost 1st choice ABs. They are great players at SR level.
This seems a consistant thing in hardcore rugby supporters. A player fucks up or is not upto McCaw levels of awesomeness when they are in the ABs, so they are therefore utter shit and shouldn't be picked for their province, let alone SR team. Or they play in a style that does not suit the fans preconceived ideas of that position. For Ex Ardie (AB PotY and WR PotY nominee) is often not included in many fans current ABs XV ATM. Thankfully the coaches are not as short sighted. All the Barret boys are awesome, Scott has the problem he is behind two of our greatest in the ABs. But to say that Jordie and Scott are not good enough to be in a combined Canes/Dockers XV is ridiculous.
