A different strain of the virus compared to previously.
really? one Nz didn't have but others did?

It doesn’t effect me but is there a reason Rodney is at L3 and Tokoroa is at L2?
it's a separate island?

I hope lockdown doesn't effect the Tokoroa Rugby Players breeding academy or else New Zealand won't have any players to poach.

I suspect simplicity of drafting.
Oh I fully suspect its because of incompetence/laziness. I was hoping for a medical justification.

Most likely.
The sequence from the latest outbreak is not the same as from the community cases in our first original outbreak in New Zealand.

@Frank I'm definitely not voting Labour. It would be unpatriotic of me to do so since we don't win RWCs when they are in power.
uh, 1987?
Edit: and I liked John Key, but can't resist this:
My bad. Should have said in the pro era.
To be fair, 1987 was Labour in name, but mostly Act in disguise.
Similar to NZ's Amateur status

Cindy on Seven Sharp was a classic example of current state of NZ journalism. Hillary and Jeremy actually asked a few good questions BUT when Cindy dodged them, no follow up or even the lightest pressure to call her out.
The whole the source doesn't matter angle was ludicrous. Also the complete lack of info about border controls. They look like tools when they keep bringing up the Mt Wellington coolstore thing. (The professor dude they interviewed also spoke really well and made it pretty clear that import via freight is not backed by science or the WHO)

I just threw up over a Facebook post glowing about how lucky they were to have a transparent front and centre leader. It's so rare

I am sure patient zero was not a family member but in fact someone working in quarantine services. Either the government know and are working out how to spin the embarassment, or our contact tracing is so fucked they haven't worked it out. Or this family are not being as helpful as they could be in identifying the leak (cultural more than wilful obstruction)
That’s a great deal of guesswork going on there.
Yup of course. But this is the Fern, you didn't expect me to have the facts did you!!!?!
Well you are allowed to call them facts. It is the fern after all.

Chris Hipkins sounds sick. Lock him up.

Apparently he's upset the government was misled about covid19 testing numbers amongst quarantine staff. Isnt that the job of Woods and the Admiral? Or his ministry? Isn't it his job to keep up with the facts of the most important thing in NZ right now?
-
@canefan Yay he's doing an order, but fark me days. August 15, yeah maybe we should be testing border workers regularly...
Also the whole misled thing...is he saying one area misled another area because that is a whole different kettle of clusterfuck.

I think, like all politicians, they are deflecting blame

I remember a Labour spokesperson being totally relaxed about Auckland DHB emergency and ICU nurses moonlighting as quarantine nurses. Now that's a clusterfuck waiting to happen

I'd have to think it wasn't so much being mislead, more incompetence at many points along the border, and failure of the Govt to ensure these points were doing things to the required level of competence.
I can't see anyone deliberately misleading the Govt in order to allow at risk people in, more they simply didn't appreciate the nature of the risk these numerous points along the border posed, 2degrees of separation and all...
