Lions do a great job holding people up. Sunwolves couldn't deal with it, and looks like we can't either.

Deserved winners lions well done. Forwards set a great platform and the halves picked us apart.

For the Chiefs the forwards aren't good enough, and the smarts and discipline were lacking. Not enough quality in the low numbers

How on earth could Rennie start the same front row after last week? That was an initial backfire which the Lions built upon.

The Chiefs could have won that game if they were more disciplined and their scrum wasn't appallingly bad.

However, the Lions were very clinical and also played some good rugby.

Wow, didn't see that coming. Are the Lions the surprise package of 2016?

    Exactly.

I'll admit that we couldn't predict Laulala's injury, and with Messam away, Elliot injured, and BBBR off, there is a lot of class missing.

However, there have also been some pretty baffling calls about selection made. Yamashita is really fucking terrible.

Marshall missed at least two (maybe three) tackles and wasn't accurate enough with his throwing. Manu was ok when we had Ben T to hold up one side, but without him is getting shown up.

There is just not enough class (left) in the squad right now.

I think we are really missing Messam's contribution in leading and organizing the defense.

Will be a frustrating year by the looks.

Geez the Chiefs made some mistakes, but I think that was because the Lions went so bloody well!

They'll have a harder time of it when teams start taking them seriously.

But sheer determination gets the Lions over the line. Not the most talented bunch but Ackermann taught them the value of offloading and keeps them going at 110%

JA is the evolution of SA Rugby coaching and yes needed some Kiwi influence, but it starting to pay off.

Weber fired up the Chiefs backline when he came on, and they showed some real class in the second half, but that first 40 was dire. I have serious concerns about the Chiefs scrum. They got owned by the Crusaders last week, and same thing happened again. Too many fat marshmallows.

Didn't catch the game but doesn't sound like I missed much. What a shit start to what'll be a fuckin tough next few weeks, with them flying from NZ to SA (which'll at least only be the Kings), then to Argentina and then straight back to NZ.

Trying to decide whether Rennie is increasingly relying on past glories, or whether it's just having too many powerpuffs to choose between in the tight five.
