Garage Project Hazy Daze, nice drop, hoppy but nice fruity flavour
Behemoth Tango & Cash Hazy Hop Buddies, hoppier than above, not quite as smooth

Great drop. I am genuinely interested how it tasted that far north though. I’ve heard it doesn’t travel well ?

@taniwharugby I find GG beers hit and miss but that Hazy IPA was bloody good after an afternoon in the sun watching some rugby.

@taniwharugby The Good George pub I was at is my local.

I tried a number of Hazy beers (in cans) last year based on recommendations in a newspaper article about the haze craze.

    • Garage Project Fuzzbox
    • Epic Wonder Joose
    • Behemoth Lid Ripper
    • Parrotdog Keith

I didn't feel the need to buy any of them again.

It could be bitter ( crap pun possibly intended ) craft beer wank speak but one brewery mentioned that it travels badly cos of how it is stored in cans ? this was in New Plymouth so if the talk is true then it might be a bit rubbish by the time it gets to Whangarei.

@MN5 well I thought it better than the behemoth hazy which only came (in a can) from Auckland, so not sure I buy that...I heard same things about Guinness, but it tasted shite in a pub I had it in, in Dublin so, yeah

Given to me as an early Christmas present so I'm working my way through the selection. I had tried Trooper before but not the other 5. The box looks cool but is only cardboard.

What the fuck does 'hazy' mean anyway? Is this how you're meant to feel after 12?

And likewise 'sessionable'? Are you supposed to be able to drink 18 and not chunder??

You’re digging your own grave here. You’ve freely admitted in another’s thread you can’t spend 90 minutes in a pub without suffering all week

For those who like malt as well as hops.
I ordered some Zeelandt Brewery ales the other day. Just tried an excellent ESB.
    Love me an ESB!
Also a special release Saison. Proper saison too. Had that genuine farmhouse funk and not to strong. Would have easily believed it was Belgian/French

Had a couple of very nice Hazy IPAs over weekend.

Brewtiful Haze (DEEP creek) and Heliopolis Brut double hazy IPA (8.6%)

Both very sessionable, the latter despite being 8.6% went down very easy.

Also had Zeffer Apple Crumble cider, first mouthful was delicious but very sweet after that.

Had a small order arrive from Emerson’s.
    Included were some stouts.
Bluffie was, of course, an oyster stout. Emerson’s used to make a Clam Stout that was excellent and this bluff oyster version was just as good as Three Boys OS which is a bit of a benchmark.
The other was a hopped stout. A bit strong and much richer, almost thick and oily. This was like a heavy version of Yeastie Boys PKB

    Both excellent brews.
Have a Chardonnay Barrel aged Saison to try too. But probably not on a weeknight

BTW if you like Bookbinder as a session beer then ordering their riggers is a much cheaper way to buy. $11 for 1.25 litres (as opposed to the bottle price in most places of about $8 for 500ml.

Good George Apple Pie & Ice Cream Cider - nice drop, not as sweet as the Zeffer

Lenny & Carl Hazy Hop Buddies (Behemoth) - really liked this one

Tina Hazy IPA (Parrotdog) - good drop, was 7%, but not as smooth as the other Hazys I been enjoying.

Just tried both of the Garage Project special Whittaker’s Chocolate beers.
Really interesting. Far more than I expected. Not really beers with a chocolate flavour more slightly beery chocolate drinks.
The White Chocolate with golden raspberry and lemon was quite delicious and I don’t really like white chocolate.
The dark chocolate is for dark bitter choc. lovers only. Like liquified 80% cocoa choc with a hint of coffe mixed with a little stout.
Recommend them both for a taste.
