I just realised that I probably need to add (good) mashed potato to my list.
Buttery, salty, slightly peppery and irresistible. Always go back for more and can just eat it on it's own.

Yes. Mix it up bit too with some mustard or wasabi.

I think we are just narrowing this down to potatoes. Fried, mashed, roasted, whatever. Even potato salad at a stretch.

This should probably go in the cooking thread but the only really acceptable style of potato salad I know is to bake a load of baby spuds, halve them while still hot then pour over a load of lemon juice. Once cooled down mix in with chopped spring onions and a seeded mustard mayo and check seasoning.

    Now we're talking.

Went to a local market in Normandy once and someone was selling spuds sliced, covered with rich cream and topped with cheese by the kilo. Just fill a container and eat with a crusty baguette. Pure bliss.

I had poutine for the first time in Vancouver. Fries, gravy, and cheese curds. What's not to like?

Eggs are OK. I just don't understand why people try to fit them into everything.
Egg ruins the spud and vice-versa

also i feel like this thread has moved from "shit you eat until it is all gone, no matter how much there is" to "things i think taste good"

Mrs Mariner has a severe weakness to Tim Tams. If there is a packet in the house, she will empty it. And then berate me for bringing them in the house. I miss Tim Tams.

Pizza. Good, proper pizza, not the Dominos, Pizza Hut crap. There is never any leftover pizza at JC Manor.
