Everything about what is wrong with this team again has been said already.

All I'll add to the conversation is that I still haven't got my head around Foster being promoted to head coach on the back of absolutely nothing. He has no body of work that even hints he knows what he is doing. What the hell were they thinking?

Probably have to give him a smidgeon of credit for being Assistant Coach of the team that won the RWC in 2015. 🙂

So absolutely nothing as a head coach.

@No-Quarter so assistant managers with no full Manager job experience never get promoted either then?

Not saying I agreed with the decision to appoint Foster, but I dont agree with your logic either.

Not to the top of the most successful organisations in the world they fucking don't. They practice running the cutter elsewhere first, and PROVE they are up to the job, before they are even considered for the role.

@No-Quarter All I can think of is that Shag, Fox and management have watched Fozzie behind the scenes and they believe in his abilities. All I can say is he must do a lot of work behind the scenes that we don't see.

Puts in massive shift at breakfast.

@No-Quarter if they are good enough they are good enough...but Id say they would usually be outstanding candidates where it was obvious they be promoted through despite thier lack of experience at the top job...Foster isnt outstanding

"New All Blacks coach Ian Foster eager to soak up the lessons of Rugby World Cup failure"

If you're going to go with something absorbent, I think "the tampon" works better. It's going to be a miserable period and there won't be any satisfaction until that bloody thing is gone.

So absolutely nothing as a head coach.

About nine years ago he was head coach of the Chiefs if you think that's relevant.

He's obviously been selected on his work with the ABs.

    Hey, don't blame me - I wanted Razor! 🙂

I have no qualms promoting coaches that have come up through the ranks in NZ and had success at Super level. Not a huge fan of making them go overseas and coach other top tier countries before being considered.

Success at Super level being the important part there.

Fosters main body of work as a head coach is traumatising the fuck out of Chiefs fans for years. You may as well chuck the role to fucking Hammer next based on that.

FFS, that's like saying Candyman 3 times, If he ever becomes AB coach I'm going to blame you and extract vengeance.

@No-Quarter I remember Gibbet's April fools thread about Foster getting the AB gig. How we wailed, and then laughed...
