Congrats Ta$man and @Chris-B . Probably would've won by more if Christie's service wasn't so slow.

Auckland created enough in the last 10, but couldn't execute.

Well played Ta$man - did just enough to win, understood the ref better. Auckland kept conceding stupid penalties -- the story of our season it feels.

Still, a decent season all told. Should grow from here. I reckon with TJ Faiane we would have won that one... really telling injury.

I thought the penalty was fine. He was on the ball for a bit and there was clear holding on for a bit . Definitely 50/50, but if it had happened in the 3rd minute then nobody would think twice.

The first attempt was fine and was possibly enough for a penalty. The second one was enough for a penalty the other way. Kind of the worst situation for a penalty call cause either team would rightfully feel hard done by.

@voodoo yeah, fair point. A very inconsistently reffed final imo

Fitting that a poor refereeing decision finishes the game

No clear release, misses first attempt and tries again.

That said, both teams entered the final knowing Briant is a donkey of a ref, but only one side wouldn't secure possession and do anything meaningful with it.

@antipodean yep. It's telling when the commentators have to praise cheating as "paradigm awareness"🙂

Ta'avao should've been taken off earlier. He was average in this game. Renata has been the better player this season, yet he only gets 3 minutes.

dont think he was supporting his weight either.

Sadly the standard of reffing this M10 cup has been found wanting.

What is going on with Ieremia? Kicking the bloody ball away, kicking every bloody penalty. It was a negative game plan, playing for the penalty instead of trying to score tries.

At the press conference last night there was a really funny moment..we were about to start with questions in the media room with Alama Ieremia first up ,and the Ta$man Mako starting singing the team song which sounds more like a military song ..despite looking a bit down in the dumps , even Alama had to laugh , what class act despite the circumstances he could stilll see the funny and was very good ,and very articulated with his answers and paid huge credit to Ta$man, he could not fault his own teams effort but lamented the yellow cards did not help , but certainly did not offer that as an excuse ..

Clark Dermody and Quinten Strange sat in for the Mako ..one point that I feel I should make, Strange made it very clear despite missing several big names , many of the players that had come into the squad had come out of club rugby ..

    I have no idea.

I also post “Fuck off auckland you bunch of massive fluffybunnies” on a messenger group. Also, I have no idea why. I was fairly boozed though.

Watching replay now and it must be grating, listening to the commentators if you’re not a Ta$man supporter?

    I

Right, so just total drunken hatred then. I have no problem with that.

I didn't have to listen to TB commentators fortunately. I did have to listen to @duluth and @tim doing commentary at the ground. Some of which was actually quite good, albeit completely biased (as was I). Duluth's lovely lady was probably the best commentator of the four of us though and with a healthy disrespect for Briant I might add.
