To me he’s always Renton from Trainspoting.
….that must have made watching Star wars very interesting

Was there a single NZer who didn’t see Jake the Muss when Fango Fett was first revealed? Was half expecting him to ask Obi Wan to make him some eggs.

Yup. And I wanted young Boba to ask Obi Wan if he had any spare 20s

To be fair Tem nailed the role.....but yeah I definitely thought he’d mention Obi Wan doing lots of speed work and not many weights

I find myself agreeing with most of this..

@Crucial I don't, he pretty much admits his annoyance at later films has ruined this one for him which I don't agree with
I think I disagree with a lot, I think the special effects are much better, just having the battle of hoth during the day...even now movie makers cheap out by setting action scenes at night so they can just have a black background and or hide shit stuff in the shadows
in different paragraphs he laments it being established right at the start that the rebels have been pushed back after what they thought was a big win...and then laments its called the Empire strikes back and that one saber duel does not a strike back make...they'd already stuck back by then, the movie is about what happens after the strike back
like every sequel of course its sets up stuff for the last movie...if it was just another stand alone one it wouldn't be a trilogy
ESB is still a very good fil in my eyes, starts to tease out there is a bigger universe, more planets, more aliens, organisations other than the empire and rebellion

ESB is an utterly incredible Movie and still the best of the entire franchise overall. Who cares what some nerd writes on the web. Fuck him.

It’s a weird article. ESB is a continuation of Luke’s journey and provides a lot more meat on the bones of the actual saga. What was supposed to happen? The Empire is crippled and the Rebels are polishing them off? And his comparison to the sequels is nonsense. Luke was absolutely pole axed in ESB. He was humbled and humiliated. Rey was beating up Sith in E7 and doing Yoda like shit in E8. ESB is everything the sequels weren’t.

I do think that a lot of what he writes is his justification for his statement. That is “from a certain point of view “.
However I have also never really understood why people cream themselves over ESB when SW itself was the amazing game changer that kicked everything off and the whole concept of reinventing matinee type movies is the very thing that Mando has returned to and been a winner.
SW was mind blowing at the time. ESB just continued things.
Yep, I agree that ESB is overrated.
