@Crazy-Horse In any other year it would make sense to try and shoehorn a series in NZ to replace the SA one. But fuck 'em I say

I know this goes against the grain but test cricket is test cricket. If they shoe-horned a test series over here against Aussie, I would love it!

Yep agree. If we didn't win then we'd have lost home and away vs Australia and wouldn't deserve to be in any test championship final anyway.

The T20 series vs Australia starts on 22/02 and finishes on 07/03. Then we have three ODIs and three T20s vs the Bangles from 13/03 to 28/03. There's no way we could play test cricket in NZ throughout April due to weather and light issues so that makes a test series vs Australia - in NZ - even more fanciful. Play it in Australia? Yeah ok, the weather would be ok in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth but most of their grounds will be committed to AFL by then. We'd have to play games in Hobart (weather and light?), Canberra (weather and light?) and Darwin or at suburban grounds like North Sydney Oval.

Im surprised Australia haven’t offered to host the SA series. And the England-India series and the final and the Olympics.

I guess we'll have to wait until we travel to England to play test cricket then

    Darwin, Cairns, Townsville?

They've played there previously. Admittedly v Bangles.

    Terrific stuff.

Any Australians whinging about this can only blame their own team for not putting India ( C or D depending on who you believe ) to the sword at home.

The Black Caps on the other hand won three out of four tests by an innings and the other very comprehensively. Good shit.

Would a replacement series even be worth wtc points? I thought that the wtc schedule was set in advance years ago.

Could we push the Bangladesh series back a couple of weeks and get a test series in after?

I'd hate to miss us play a bunch of meaningless short form games against Bangladesh just to shoehorn a test series in.

Given the amount of MIQ issues, probably not.

As of today we play the poms.

Who would you rather us play?

Bit of a 50/50 call because both teams will have a home crowd. Poms obviously know the conditions but India have a decent pace attack.

Probably prefer to play the Indians over there

Agreed. We’re a better team than England but I’d really worry about playing them in their conditions.

Pressure on both of them then.

If the Black Caps gel they’re capable of downing either team convincingly, I just hope the dizzying heights don’t get to them.

Shit, is it that cut and dried?

The way England have been playing in subcontinent conditions for nigh on 2 months now makes me think we'll be playing them at Lords. Oh well, wonder what the count back criteria will be this time? Number of lions on a shirt?

See the graphic I posted earlier. India now need to win the series 2-1 or 3-1 to qualify for the final.

England still needs to win 2 of the last 3 tests.
