@mariner4life @bayimports while my memories of early seasons of The Expanse are dusty, I agree it can be a little slow. But I'd watch that whole thing just for the moments where Amos Burton's complete lack of fucks to give comes to the fore. Great character.
i love Amos! he's the best character on the show!!
Holden's droopy face fucks me off (dollar store John snow) but Naomi is fine as a motherfucker
I'll definitely see it through because i still like it.
thanks guys for the feedback, I..will try and get back into it
Just curiously, anyone else having trouble playing season 2/3 of loudermilk?
Yes!!! I figured it wasn't released yet in Oz? I can't get a single episode to play

So continuing on with Briarpatch and really like it. Quirky and fun.
Also started on Those who kill and looks good, although there were many "huh?" moments for me, so hope it's just stuff they're gonna fill in later. Many unexplained angst and awkwardness from characters.

Watched 2 eps of Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.
Netflix, 4 eps only.
Pretty intriguing so far, hotel is notorious for crimes taking place there, including one of the rapes and murders of The Nightstalker.
I pretty much knew the story, but thought they did bloody well to stretch it out to 4 eps and make it mostly interesting! Was good to see a lot of humble pie being eaten...
They stretched it out with
:::
All those fuck knuckle keyboard cops!
What a cluster fuck group of nonces!
They told the story well, coulda done in 1 ep, but was pretty well done to keep it going for 4.
The bit I was always skeptical of was about her being naked and her clothes in the tank, but when explained the way the cop did, it all made sense, especially when they reveal the lid from the tank was off all along, which was another pivotal part of the story.
:::
ANyone watched Clarice (after SOTL) or For All Mankind (alternative history if the Russians got to the moon frst)

Awesome show, probably top 3 of shows I watched last year.

@bovidae I liked some of the detail in the intro to For All Mankind S2 E1. John Lennon survived the shooting but the Pope didn’t survive his, Prince Charles married Camilla instead of Diana. Polanski was arrested on the Canadian border. Reagan refused to bail out Chrysler. Also President Ted Kennedy couldn’t secure the nomination for his second term because of a sex scandal.

@nepia I assume you also got a message from Apple TV+ that S2 of For All Mankind has started?
Yep got the text, although I'm midway through two other series I'm watching so wont be able to watch it straight away.
-
I'm re-watching Generation Kill, man some of the banter in it is outstanding!!
-
Great starts to both
Bloodlands on BBC 1
Unforgotten Series 4 on ITV
-
watched the first couple of eps of For All Mankind, seems bloody good so far.
Was funny as I had just finished rewatching Generation KIll and Gene was the redneck in GK.
A few of the wives have been in other stuff too.
-
@taniwharugby Series 1 or 2?
-
@taniwharugby S2 is now out, releasing 1 episode per week. It's interesting how they insert real archive footage but change the context. You get Gary Hart talking about Reagan's sabre-rattling (real) but about a completely different incident (invented).
You also see the head of Nasa with an electric car recharging in his parking space after the opening exposition stating that Reagan refused to bail out Chrysler. It makes you wonder what might have been.

Yeah I'm really enjoying it so far. Really good production quality and interesting writing. 4K HDR looks good too.
