Rugby on Stan
-
This is what I see.
-
@kiwimurph I see the same but when I click on that there is only the two types of highlights
-
@kiwiwomble I have a full replay on mine too.
-
@kiwiwomble Try to power cycle your device (if you have an android box) and then reinstall your Stan app.
-
Ok, interesting, the big tv downstairs still doesn’t have it, 2015 Samsung, just noticed a small notice at the bottom saying “you device doesn’t support live broadcast, check back later for the reply” ...might it be to old in some way?
-
@kiwiwomble Yeah I think most TVs that support live streaming for Stan are 2016 models onwards. Only way to get it to work is to get a Chromecast or
an Android Box. I could be wrong. -
So, got around to getting Stan on Friday ...
... worked out I needed Chromecast and bought one today.
Watched replay, well first half of replay, of Blues v Canes this arvo.
Generally really good, but ...
Major drawback is lack of FF and rewind.
You can move the status bar thing and randomly hope you land where you want but I'd prefer an actual ff or rew.
Also, while I'm on the whinge...
... Foxtel used to allow you to rewind, then advance in slomo. We lost that with the Foxtel upgrade a couple of years back. Can apps please do that again? It's old tech so why can't new apps do it?

Anyone having trouble casting Stan sport this weekend? Trying to watch the Chiefs/Highlanders game and the picture and sound jumps after a few moments. It's like there is a micro pause every split second. Very annoying. Also doing it during one of the Aussie games.
Got the same result casting from a different device. Normal Stan is not jumping around, nor is Netflix. And it doesn't jump if I watch the coverage on the device rather than casting.
-
You will all be relieved to hear the build up to the Crusaders game is working ok for me.
-
Seems to be working ok
-
@crazy-horse I had the same issue with the Chiefs v Highlanders game too but I watched it on replay. It wasn't throughout the whole game though, just on a few occasions.
-
I eventually got the new Chromecast ("With GoogleTV") and it fixed a few of those issues I was having historically (not with Stan).
The older Chromecasts were alright for stuff at 720p but having to have the device stream then buffer then stream to a chromecast without a lot of grunt wasn't ideal when going up to HD.
