VERY interested in the team Brownie will name, he's moved people around all season, swapped players playing well and kept those struggling. to ignore the team played on the weekend will be a big call though

anyone seen anything about TUJ? injured?

He's made noises that the admonished players have to prove themselves to get back in.

I can't see Ioane being back anywhere other than as bench cover. The 10 and 15 combo last game worked a treat.

I'm expecting the same XV rolled out.

Much more questions around who the Chiefs are going to play. I have no idea how the hospital ward looks at the moment apart from Cane.
I think we will still see Trask at 10 with DMac at 15. Locks and Loosies are a lottery. Wings are a lottery.

When exactly did he break his arm?

I see that Josh Timu is TUJ's replacement. The Highlanders can never have enough Josh's in their squad. 🙂

@bovidae its a criteria for joining the squad, either from Ta$man/hawkes bay and or named Josh

Fakatava out for this game too...was excited...less so now

Chiefs update: Boshier likely to be on the bench and the injury ward empties.

@kiwiwomble nah pretty sure he is listed as a midfielder as people were unhappy he was in the squad over Freedom, even though they were not competing same spots.

Highlanders hit with another injury blow as Josh Ioane deemed available for selection again

Highlanders hit with another injury blow as Josh Ioane deemed available for selection again

Highlanders star Josh Ioane will be available to play for his side again when they face the Chiefs in Dunedin this Saturday.

As posted in Landers thread. TUJ out and Fakatava doubtful.

    @crucial

On the back of their bye week, there has also been plenty more good news for the Chiefs in their injury department, with prop Sione Mafileo (back), locks Tupou Vaa’i (concussion) and Josh Lord (shoulder), and outside backs Bailyn Sullivan (concussion), Etene Nanai-Seturo (hamstring) and Jonah Lowe (sickness) all also now back on deck.

    Yeah good.

    Bench L Bosh

Finau at 6 over K Boshier in my team.

Kaylum is a no.8, which is why the article suggests he would start there if Jacobson is at openside. Parker could also play at no.8 but is obviously behind Boshier in the pecking order.

If the starting loose forward trio is Brown-Jacobson-K Boshier with L Boshier and PGS on the bench there is no lock cover in the reserves. That means Brown either moves there for Ah Kuoi or is subbed off. Luke moves to 6 and L Boshier to 7. I don't think there should be 2 loose forwards in the reserves.

This just reads as an accidental insult to my eyes at least:
"Highlanders hit with another injury blow as Josh Ioane deemed available for selection again"
perhaps they could have put a "while" in there..

The thing is, I quite liked the way he played last year but I wonder if these rumours of a party lifestyle are affecting his performance on the field (or perhaps there is a link both ways)..
